Cheap flights??

I live near Edmonton and fly from there. I flew in Oct 07 (booked in March 07) for $347 per person inc taxes, Canadian dollars, this was with Delta - flew out on a Thursday or Friday. We are flying again at the end of January (booked April 08) for $360 per person inc taxes, Canadian dollars, this is with United - flying on a Saturday.

I would use Travelocity and Expedia and put in a search and have it flag you with price changes to your email. Then book directly through the airline as it is cheaper. Sign-up for any travel fare emails you can directly from airlines so you can get instant notice of sales.

It really seems hit and miss, but at least the notifications keep you in the loop.

Good Luck.

:cool1: Booked yesterday with Airtran out of Pittsburgh like 2 years ago and got non stop flights for a total of $335.00US for the 5 of us. Flights were $48.00 less $25.00 off coupon.
Thanks Webworm. I also booked yesterday using 8 codes for 4 people and got flights for 88 return each from Detroit to Orlando.

I have flights booked leaving May 10, yes mothers day . Jetblue
direct flight, return on the following Friday
60 dollars each way
Total cost for four of us is $550 US, which is I feel a great price even
with the exchange rate

Best prices from Toronto that we could find were on Sunwing. I know some people on the DISboards believe they are heading for financial ruin and should be avoided, but the airline came highly recommended by both our travel agent and our Disney specialist :confused3 .

I have a friend in the airline industry (mechanic) and he said that they MAY have financial problems. He has been in the industry for over 30 years. I trust his word. I'd stay away from them just in case.

You guys are lucky to have so many flight options. From Saskatoon, I have three airlines I can fly with - Northwest, Westjet and AC. Both Westjet and AC require you to fly to Toronto or Calgary to change planes, and almost all flights to Toronto require an overnight stay, essentially at the airport, because you arrive just before midnight and depart at 6:00am. Calgary is a little better through Westjet, but still most are 15 hour days in airports and planes.
My best option to this point has been Northwest - 1 stop in Minneapolis and only about 8.5 hours of airport/plane time. However, I noticed that prices would bounce up and down and were cheapest 6 months in advance and 2-3 months in advance with all airlines.
