Cheap eats in DC?

We actually discovered 5 Guys this summer in Mystic, CT and loved it. I will definately look for it while there. They are gluten free except for the buns so my son can eat without worries. And we now know to split our burgers. The last time we ate there I vowed that I would never eat a whole burger plus fries myself again.:eek:Good thing we spent the day walking around the seaport.

I had read about Union Station also and will plan to check that out too.

I second seeing the sights at night! I grew up in that area, as teens we would jump on the metro and hang out at the mall. Back in the days before cell phones even! I hate that my children are not able to experience that.

Its been a long time since I have been back to do more than stop at a museum with family when I am home. You can take the metro over to the mall, I think its in Crystal City..can't think of the name of the stop. Hopefully someone will come along and know. There is a decent food court there for quick eats and you can always tour the Pentagon while you are over there.

Pentagon City Mall, the stop is connected to the building. Lots of shopping including Macy's, Nordstrom's, Apple Store plus a big food court.

agnes!

Yes, the metro passes can be bought by the week. We did that and they are $35-39 something like that. WORTH EVERY PENNY. We used them many times each day getting from one thing to the next. Keep in mind that on the map things look a lot closer then they are so taking the metro from one stop to the next can save a LOT of walking.
