Cheap Eating near HersheyPark?

Hey, all,

We are going to Hershey Park this coming weekend...staying at the campground. We will do the Friday night "preview" and Saturday all day at the park. Looking for reasonable dining near the park. I am looking at Restaurant.com - I do not have the Entertainment book - any other thoughts? We haven't been in a couple of years and things are super-tight now. Thanks!

There is a pizza place on Hershey Av (the main downtown street) something Sarrento's. we have eaten there for over 20 years while camping. Also, in the plaza near the bank building is another with family Italian dinners and subs.

There was a Poppa Johns too. Google to make sure it is still there and look for a cupon. I found one online I used in Disney.
Pull out of the campground, turn right onto the hwy, turn right into the plaza. Ask for paper plates and cups for soda.
There are fast food places too. The area has built up so much in the last 25 years so many options.

Not to hijack - but does anyone have info on the Hershey Factory tour? I remember doing that as a kid and visiting the store afterward (I also remember seeing the roller coasters across the parking lot and my Dad saying he wasn't spending the $$ to go in - but that's an issue for my therapist! LOL!)

They no longer give tours of the actual factory, and have not since 1979 when Chocolate World opened. Chocolate World has a ride through factory simulation tour (think Disney). This ride is free.

You are talking about the old location that got knocked down for road construction. Mr. Sorrento's moved to 322 across from the Hershey Med Center because they got bought out for the road project. They are table service/quick service to go by Disney terms, and really go by Piazza Sorrento. And I agree with a prior poster, they are overpriced and not worth it, in my opinion.

And the main downtown street is called Chocolate Avenue. :)
