I am a strong believer in priceline.com. For most of our trips, we use Happy Limo, but sometimes we come down for the weekend and like to wander around Orlando and Celebration. For those trips, I bid for an MCO car rental place, and so far I've gotten Avis twice and Alamo twice. I base the price on the lowest price I can find on the web with a code or from L & M, and so far Priceline has always beaten that. We already have them booked for the last weekend in May, when we're going to hang around after our cruise. For that one, I got Avis.

I feel the occasional need to rant about a terrible experience I had. I consider myself the king of cheap. But I found my breaking point with rental cars....
Stay clear of Americar/Payless. Their prices will grab you. Their policies are basically to get you in with a cheap price, then give you a hardsell on insurance/buying tanks of gas/upgrades. Their pressure sales pitch on these things rivals any timeshare session I've ever heard of. I'm used to renting cars and going through that stuff, but these guys take the cake.
If you want more details, let me know. I'll direct you to a listing of my full, nasty experience with them. While I believe in budget everything, I'll never again trust "cheap rental cars," because there's no such thing. It just isn't worth it. If you need inexpensive, go the Priceline route....
