Hi -

I am going to the world with my 3 kids in May. Do I need a bag? I don't plan on bringing in drinks or snacks with me. I will have my id, tickets, money, camera - whatelse????? :confused3
I have a fanny pack - does anyone still use those? :hippie: I happen to like mine and am not really worried about style so... Bag or Fanny Pack and if a bag what kind. I have read about bagalini bags but know nothing about them except they are recommended here.

What do you put in your bag if you have older kids?

TIA!
Michelle

I'd just use the fanny pack (and yes lots of people still use those) and save the $$$ you would spend on a bag that will end up being something else to lug around.

fanny packs are very much still 'in style' at WDW. LOL

I would think at their ages that's all you need. I guess if you had ponchos but rolled propery they should fit in there too.

When I take just my DD(9), that's all I'm bringing is my fanny pack. I can't wait to travel so lightweight! :goodvibes

Sounds like the fanny pack will work well. That's what DH and I carry too. It's so much easier to travel light in the parks--less gear for security to search, less gear to stow on each ride, less stuff to potentially lose, etc.

Plus it's so nice to be able to walk around with your hands free. If anyone wants souveniers encourage them to use resort delivery or institute a "you bought it, you carry it" policy.

The only thing else I can imagine you'd need to carry is sunscreen. Other than that, a small wallet with your ID, room key and/or tickets, health insurance cards (just in case!) and some cash and your camera are more than enough!

I carry my camera, travel size sunscreen, antibacterial gel and lotion, sunglasses, money and a few tissues in my fanny pack. I get a Bagellini and used it last year when we took the video camera (we still have the older kind not huge but too big for a fanny pack, we also carry the ponchos in there if we take it.

I am thinking fanny pack!!!
I like it
It works
and it's FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More money for the fun stuff - that's what I like to hear!!
Heck my kids can have their own fanny pack if they want one - Walmart is cheap cheap cheap for those types of things.

I like the whole - you buy it, you carry it philosophy too. My kids are old enough - finally!!!!!

You will see lots of fannie packs at WDW. DH and I each wear one, and the girls each wear their own. They each carry either a cell phone or walkie-talkie, their own money, and dd11 carries her inhaler and earplugs (can't stand noise of fireworks and such). It also gives them a place to stow their sunglasses when we're inside. I carry the camera, travel pack of antibacterial wipes, and a small first aid kit. DH carries the video camera. I carry my money and tickets in a neck pouch.

I have a light weight fabric bag that I can carry in my hand or on my back.

I don't like a lot of pockets and compartments because you will have to open all of them up for security.

And I try not to get behind people with zippery bags in the security line.
