Cheap and Safe parking for JFK

try www.avistarparking.com, I've heard good things about them.
We were going to use them when we went to WDW a couple of weeks ago, but decided against it - you have to take a shuttle from the parking lot to the terminal and since we went with another family, we just had too much "stuff" 3 car seat, 3 strollers, ect.... We just decided we wanted to be dropped off right in front of the door!!!!

We have parked in the long term parking lot over by the jetblue terminal many times and NEVER had a problem. It is relatively inexpensive too. Remember that JFK is one of the most highly guarded airports in the world, if not THE most.

Ther is tons of security there.

Last time we went it was actually cheaper to rent a car one way from home and return it to JFK and do the reverse on the way back. Some of the area hotels offer free parking if you are going to spend the night near the airport. Otherwise some rental car places also offer parking in there lots.

If you dont want to lug everything on the shuttle just drop off your spouse at the terminal with the kids and luggage then go park and only you have to ride the shuttle with no bags.

I have used Avistar many times.......... at several airports including JFK. Great service, they take you right to your terminal. When returning, they return you to their location, and your car is there waiting for you. In the winter, they even have it running with the heat on! Use your AAA card for the best discount, if no AAA print out one of their coupons from the website.

As for JFK's long term parking, We HAVE used it. I often fly alone, and would NEVER use it again, esp. alone. We returned at night, and we were dropped off at our stop. There were no other humans around, I felt like we were in a parking lot on the moon. SCAREY. And I was with DH and 2 teen aged sons.

I used Long-term parking at JFK back in June - early morning flight (6:30 am), and nighttime return (11:30 pm). I felt very safe. Parking lot was well-lit, air train dropped me off at a well-lit station that had many other people getting on (including TSA employees). Saw many security trucks patrolling the lots. Only downfall was the cost.
