Cheap Airfare From NYC

I'm trying to find the cheapest airfare from NYC to Orlando. I can fly from either LaGuardia, JFK, Islip, or Newark. The cheapest I've been able to find is $99 each way. I've read that people have paid $0.32 for airfare. How is this possible? What am I missing? Any suggestions as far as airlines goes?

they fly on Spiritair out of Atlantic city.

Spirit issues specials 2 or 3 times per week with limited flights at low cost. (sales last 36 hours and sell out fast. Sale prices are good for specific dates & flights only.)

We are going in feb for $227 roundtrip for 4 people. SAt night to Tiesdy night.

($18 flights each way).

Yo cn sign up for email notifciation on there site but you need to be fast.

How is Spirit? Do you get assigned seats? Or is it like Southwest? Are the flights non-stop? I could bring myself to drive to Atlantic City, which is about 2 hours away, if it were well worth it.

I jumped on the $99 fare a week or so ago.

The cheapest I had seen prior to that was $219 round trip. For my family of 5, that's $100 more. I'm not comfortable with the idea of us being split up-- my 3 kids are still little-- so I didn't want to book Southwest. If you're OK with that idea, sign up for their DINGS and cross your fingers.

And with oil prices increasing, I wasn't counting on fares going down anytime soon.

So now I've stopped looking. If fares go down and I don't see it, I can stay happy... the old "ignorance is bliss" idea.

Another option is SW or US out of Philly, DH routinely finds fare in the $89-120 range r/t from PHL to MCO. Parking is much cheaper there as well.

I have also seen some good specials on JetBlue and AirTran out of Newburgh, NY which I do not think is any farther than AC from where you are. You can sign up for email alerts for specials from the AirTran website,,,,not sure if JetBlue offers that.

Did you try White Plains?

I got $84 each way for August but I did change my week to get that on Jet Blue.
