Cheap airfare from Dallas Texas?

Just curious from fellow Texans, if anybody has found any exceptionally cheap airfare from Dallas to DL area airports???

Airfare from DFW seems to be high for every place I want to go. We ended up getting great airfare - leaving from OKC! My brother is getting married there, so instead of coming home and flying out of DFW, we'll just leave the car at the hotel and drive back home. The funny thing is - we go THROUGH DFW for our connection, yet it is cheaper to go out of OKC. If you are willing to drive somewhere and stay the night, you might check around. Also, I've gotten some interesting DINGS from Southwest out of DAL; of course you have to connect, but it may be worth it. Good luck!!

Thanks Disney Princess! Very good tips. Now we can get from Dallas to Orlando on Southwest for $69 each way! I want that kind of deal to Cali!

Since we live in central Tx, we have several airports to choose from without too much difference in driving time. We are flying out of Austin on a direct flight to LAX for our upcoming trip in Oct and got airfare for only $170 pp incl all taxes and fees. I shopped up and down I-35 (DFW, Waco, Killeen, Austin) and even looked at going to Houston, but that airfare won hands-down. I don't know why DFW has been so expensive lately -- or maybe it's just everywhere I've been wanting to fly that is $$$!

The $69 each way Southwest fare doesn't include all the taxes, fees etc. Figure another $20 each way.

Mid July or August fairs will be a little cheaper than June. This is the start of the summer season so expect fairs to slowly increase the next few weeks.

Keep an eye on DING specials. Also, Southwest changes their rates every Tuesday morning so look then.

Use Kayak.com or Farecast.com as a good way to see almost all airline fares except Southwest.

a $69 flight thru southwest can turn into a +$100 flight be sure to check fees for airports u are flying into, a flight from Portland Or to LAX using ding $69 = $107 something for me 1 way gets spendy fast!!!(there are 4 of us) I dont understand all those darn fees, so for us it is still cheaper to drive!!!

Well, it's hard to find cheap airfare very much these days out of DFW. I always prefer the non-stop flights personally so my choices are that much more limited.

From DFW to LAX usually is about $10-20 cheaper than flying into SNA. But, I usually prefer to spend the extra into SNA since it's so much better than LAX. It's roughly $250-$280 roundtrip for normal economy fares in advance. However, every once in a while, there will be some fare sales, though. I just checked AA and you can get a roundtrip from DFW to LAX for $216 roundtrip if flying between 6/4 and 8/31. That's actually not a bad deal. Just check the restrictions.

(Our flight this summer is dirt cheap, though......using air miles for all 5 of us )
