So my girl turned 8 yesterday. She had a blast.
The girls had fun in their costumes for the bollywood dance. They were so excited they got to keep them. We had a couple girls just flat out refuse to dance. I mean they would not even try. They were family friends that I was hesitant to invite anyway but felt obligated. They just hung out on the side and kept swinging on the ballet bar. I would have to come over and yell at them to get off of the bar so it didnt come crashing down. (I've known them since they were born so I can talk to them that way!

) Morgan doesnt play with them unless we get together with the parents so next year I think I'll skip inviting them to the party. Last year one girl kind of ruined the libby lu makeover day we had planned for Morgan. I wish I would have just brought her other friends. this girl was so obnoxious and the other girls did not know how to act in front of her. Its just tough when her parents are our good friends! Like, Oh, we are not having a party for Morgan this year. What do I day. Their birthdays are a day apart and we are going to hers today.
Other than that the party was a blast and the girls all 20 of them had fun. Morgan is so good about working a room and making sure each girl isnt left out. Some of them were from school and some from dance so it was important that they all felt comfortable. The dance girls were the shy ones surprisingly. I think they were thrown off by the wildness of the school girls.
Remember how I have always said I believe dance has made Morgan more mature and act not so crazy most of the time or out of control like the girls at school. All of her dance friends are like that, composed most of the time. Dont get me wrong they know how to be silly and have fun its just not so WILD I guess. I guess taking 5 hours a week of ballet learning how to be graceful ladies drills this into you. Anyway, they were all very kind and polite to the school girls but when it was freestyle dance during hip hop the school girls were going nuts jammin' the teacher was trying to get the company girls to dance but they were just staying on the back of the wall (not Morgan) We were laughing at it like they were all out of place with crazy kids in their studio.

They do freestyle dances in their classes and they go all out then but the school girls were hysterical not doing dance moves but like funny air guitars on their knees and jumping up and down. I just dont think the dance girls knew what to do. Like "this isnt dancing and they got all shy"

Most of the school girls had never been in a dance studio so they were so excited. The teacher kept telling the dance girls that this was the one time they could let loose, no dance moves had to be perfect, no critiquing no teaching, they were just to have fun and let loose. They might have been afraid to in front of their teachers.

I seriously thought the opposite would happen.
Here are some pictures
Morgan with the hair prep! She slept in it so it would be cute. She will hate me later for it. I love Jake's little outfit here.
Showing off her new leo for the party.
we did the mean trick thing. She had asked for an ipod. She has been begging for at least 6 months for one. Not that it really matters because we wont be like this but she is one of the last of her dance friends to get one. They just plug them in there and all their music is loaded on. Its so easy. When music is your life 13 hours a week this comes in handy. Last year we bought her a cheap MP3 player and boy was that a mistake $65 bucks down the drain. I think of it this way that $65 bucks could have gone toward this. Sometimes you get what you pay for. I had all of her music on itunes and could not transfer it over to the new program I had to put on my computer for the MP3 player. So I had to make CD's then reload them into my computer on the new program and then type each song and artist. It took forever. Then the
AAA batters lasted about an hour so that got expensive to keep replacing.
We thought about getting a $49 shuffle but like I said with her dance songs I wanted her to divide them up in playlists and find them easily on the screen instead of forwarding through. She is responsible enough I believe for this.
So, all of her friends have this one and she has been BEGGING for it. I mean BEGGING. I told her it would really be the only thing she got if she got it. Well, I went shopping for back to school clothes and didnt want her just to open 1 present so normally I would just give her the clothes of course but I wrapped them all up. She opened up 10 boxes of clothes. No toys no games nothing. Clothes. She loves clothes but she was looking worried. I've told her she cant always have what she wants but I knew this was a huge deal for her. Then the last box came and it was the "basics" box all white and black t-shirts, leggings and long sleeve stuff to go under her new clothes. Very boring. I said "That's it, lets get ready for dance" She looked so worried but didnt want to cry I could tell. She sweetly said thank you for everything and got up. I said "Oh, Jeff where is that other blue outfit we got her?" He said "maybe it fell in the closet" So he went to check and it was another clothing sized box. She opened it and it was a childrens place gift box outside and opened the tissue paper. Inside was the pink ipod, pink case and pink ear buds. She started crying (probably from relief) she was so happy!
Then from my mom she got Julie her 2nd American Girl doll. We told her that is it. No more. Those puppies are expensive. She loves her. She has the "just like me" one and now Julie. They both look like her!

She also got tons of clothes for Julie and an American Girl suitcase.
At the dance studio. i wont post a lot of pictures because of the other girls but this is my youngest God Child. Isnt she ADORABLE
This is actually a great picture because everyone is blurred but you can sort of see the costumes I had for the girls. They all had different colors for the Bollywood dance
Here is the back of Morgan and some other girls at a distance too. The fabric was gorgeous
Everyone from the back.
Oh hey look I just figured out how to distort faces! COOL!
Sorry so many pictures.
