Chatting or Silence: Which do you prefer?

I sure do! I'm married to one, too! My dh makes friends everywhere he goes, while I try my best to be invisable. My kids, 12 and 15, get so embarassed whenever dad launches into conversations with total strangers

LOL! My brother-in-law is like this. He makes buddies with everyone. It is so funny traveling with him because by the time we leave he is best friends with everyone in the hotel, the surrounding restuarants, the drugstore.... I'll go for a drink at the bar and they'll say "you're Greg's sister-in-law, right?" And soon I'll have a free drink.

Thats easy for me! I like it quiet. I have even feigned sleep when I had a jabber jaw next to me. shhhh....

I usually prefer to sit quietly. I'm in a very people-oriented but intense line of work, so it feels wonderful to just sit and enjoy some time to myself. I usually read or do crosswords or take a nap. I do chat sometimes for just a few minutes if a seat neighbor seems to want to, but I'm pretty good at keeping it short but friendly.

Steff that is an amazing story. I think you might have a career in diplomacy ahead of you-- do you think maybe you could take a whack at the North Korea situation?

Typically, when only DW and I fly, I do (admittedly) talk someone's ear off. However, when we travel with DS5 and DS2.5, I am in charge of DS5...and his safety, security and enjoyment are my only concerns. Typically, when we travel with the 2 DS's, we fly in the very (!!!!!) early morning (before 7am) with me being in the aisle seat and my son on a window seat (for security purposes). That way, the kids are asleep, and their daddy can sleep and not get in trouble with DW!
