Chatterbox Thread-Cmon in and Jabber! Everyone is Welcome!

:rotfl:

I think Lynn has the right idea.. share the wealth ;) Now that paypal account was funnygarcia @ ............................................. No credit cards, existing funds only. Thank you!

:rotfl2:

And oh man Lynn, bronchitis sucks! I'm glad you got in right away to check it out.

When E coughs up blood I shove him to the doc to get an x ray, for him it means pneumonia and after a really really bad case that hospitalized him for over a month I don't let him "wait it out". You do NOT want a severe case of pneumonia, it's awful and scary stuff :scared:

So take your meds young lady and rest rest rest! :upsidedow
Hope you feel better soon!

Haha...funny guys! What I should have said was "money isn't everything, it's just 99%).lol.

Morning and happy Thursday!!

Thanks so much Lynn for checking on things! While I don't want it to be "hot" I hope it isn't COLD either. Or esp not rainy!! I saw that the first two days are supposed to have thunderstorms but yet say 82 so rain yet hot. We shall see I guess. I just hope it doesn't rain the whole time. That is miserable!! I'm sorry you have Bronchitis!! I hope you can get that under control. I have had that several times and as I am sure you know and as they say once you have had it a few times you are more vulnerable to getting again. It is miserable! Feel better!! :)

We went to the GATE meeting last night and it was amazing hardly anyone showed to the meeting to do away with 6th grade and yet the meeting for GATE was PACKED!! Basically we were told our kids qualified preliminarily based on their test scores for one of their 3 programs and we will now be getting a letter telling which one their are eligible for. RL, HA or IB. Rapid Learner, High Achiever or Bacularuate. Then we have to sign a letter of intent if we want them to be in one of the programs and if they qualify for a program that is not at the school they are supposed to go to then we have to do a transfer and yadda yadda. So IF Katy even qualifies chances are it will be for HA and they already have it at the jr. high she is already supposed to go to next year so we shall see.

Anyway she is excited so I hope it all works out for her cuz it would be a good opportunity and I think it would be a good push for her.

Anyway today I just have more of the same. Chores and trying to get stuff wrapped up.

I found out our indoor game is at 4:50 and yet Katy's cast needs to get off at 3:45 downtown so that is going to be cutting it CLOSE trying to get that all done and get back in time!! I hope it all works out!

Shane is also working in the bay area and is going to have to get off at like noon tomorrow in order to get home in time! UGH! Honestly I would prefer he does NOT take off work for stupid soccer. We need the money and I know he considers soccer a big deal but NOT at the expense of his job!!! That is why he has an assistant coach!!! Grrr! All I know is this better not happen again cuz I don't think his boss is going to be too thrilled with him taking off early either!

Anyway that's bout it for me. Hope you all have a good day and for those that are ill hope you feel better real soon!!!

Every time I log onto the DIS there's this cute little girl in an ad at the top with a binky stuck in her mouth. I just want to grab it out of her mouth!!! ARRGGHHH!! If she's old enough to wear sunglasses, she's old enough to get rid of that pacifier.

:):):)

I would start a thread on the Community Board so we could all sign a petition urging the removal of the pacifier. But it would probably start a huge argument over the proper age to get rid of pacifier's...so I won't!

Checking in here at work. My stupid internet is not working at home. AT&T is saying it is my 2 year old modem but I don't buy it. All the lights are still on and it is searching for the net. I think it is THEM. We shall see. Super busy day today. At work now then picking up the girls early from school so Katy can get her cast off then off to the indoor soccer game and then hopefully stopping by AT&T to get this mess sorted. If it is NOT the modem then don't know HOW long it will be.

Have a good one! If it is NOT the modem it may be awhile before I can get back on.

I just booked us for DL at the HOJOS!! WOOHOOOO!!! We went rounds trying to figure where we should stay. Residence inn?? Okay, but I dont like the idea of having stairs in the room, and I dont like that dh and my room would be open. AND it is kinda far away from the park. SO. We went with what we know. Connecting rooms at the hojos. I think it will give us more space anyways. Comfy beds, for sure!

DANG, i just made my dinner reservatins for WDW, it took like an hour, they need to get there stuff together like DLR, that was crazy!

Hope you got it worked out.

Sometimes the signal needs a bit of a boost/ refreshing. Unplug the power to both the router and the modem, let it sit for awhile (I had a cable modem with a back up battery pack, Snapped it away to make sure to clear out any remaining signal). Plug it back in, wait a few minutes and retry the network. All happily refreshed and working again. Had to do that quite frequently with Comcast as it would search and search but not get a return signal. Any time a cable tech came out to hook someone up in our building it would screw up our signal.

Our Qwest modem/router is a special upgrade wireless directly from them, haven't had a problem at all. Better than our crappy cheapie router.
We do lose our wifi signal anytime someone tried to buzz up to our apt. With a bit of time and refreshing the network, it fixes itself.. or we need to enter the mile long security code in each of our devices again.. crappy time consuming process on the Itouch.

:rotfl:

Justin had the binkie habit until he was 2 yrs old. He wouldn't give it up, so we snipped off the end a little bit every few days. Totally lost the appeal when there was nothing left to suck on.
I wish Noah had taken to a paci.. but her never did, thumb sucker all the way.. yeck! At least a paci you can control.

We went to stroll the mall today...

Got off the train and it hits me.. SNIFF Sniff.. HEY! I know that smell, did you smell that dear?

At first E says "oh it's just pipe tobacco" and I go nooooo I don't think so.

And then I see this older teen with something suspicious pinched between his fingers, suspiciously giving off a bit of smoke.

He is acting odd, looking around, walking a bit further out from everyone scurrying to the entrance. Trying to cup his hand over the smoking little bit of.. yep.. I KNOW that smell.

We start giggling about following him for a bit of a contact high :lmao::rotfl2:
I sneak a peek at him, yep the dude is stoned.

He takes a few more quick hits, pinches it to put it out and tucks it back into his pocket.

ahhh, gotta love public transportation and the city.. think of all the fun we would miss if we drove somewhere. :thumbsup2

Of course if you drove somewhere, then you would know it was your own teenagers toking it up in the back...all of the sudden it wouldn't be so funny!:rotfl2: It's amazing what people will do in public.

:scared1:

Nawwwwwww, I don't think my boys would even be tempted.. or at least not until they are older, not under our thumbs. It's not like we are super strict and they fear our wrath. It's just that we live in close quarters, not anywhere to hide.

But yeah.. the things people do in public just amazes me. E shared with me that I missed a parent ragging on her little boy while waiting for the bus. :sad2: Swearing at him and calling him names.. so sad.. E is too nice to say anything but he wanted to tell her off. Then the boy had to pee, the bus was coming soon.. so she yelled at him some more and had him go behind the bus shelter. It's not like the bus shelter provides a lot of privacy, it's made out of plexi-glass for gosh sakes!

What if it was a girl? Would she still have her pee outside? It's getting cooler now, not exactly the most comfy thing to do in the cold.
Makes you wonder why some people have kids, you know?

Today we walked around and did all of our errands.

Eloy bought a coat at the thrift store that I thought was particularly horrendously ugly, found out later he is using the fabric to make hats. For a hat it's decent. He has been happily sewing (by hand) since we got home and now wants a sewing machine. I think he has found his new hobby, who knew?? I didn't!

Managed to get the Itunes gift card deal at Walmart, they had them at the electronics dept registers but not on display. Guessing no one knew they were still available. $50 GC for $35, the boys will share it.. one gift done. :thumbsup2

Last week Coke Rewards had $10 Game Stop GC, no limit! I cashed out for $50 worth, they were shipped yesterday.. another gift done and didn't cost me anything! I have My Points to cash out for $50 worth.. but not sure where. Gift shopping is easy this year, truly what do teens want more than anything? Money of course! We will buy socks and underwear to wrap .. gotta torture them a little you know. ;)

Afternoon and Happy Sunday!

Seems like I've been gone forever! :) B sounds like you have been being a little devil following teens around trying to get high LOL. Cracks me up!! And they think teens are bad LOL. Reminds me of that movie It's complicated when Steve Martin and Meryl Streep smoke the joint. Hilarious!!

Anywho Friday ended up being a CRAZY day. I went in to work and then picked up the girls early from school. Katy got her cast off and the ortho said it looks pretty good but it is still a bit crooked but prob ok. She can't make a fist though so she taped the last two fingers together for one more week and she is to do some exercises with it and then we go back on the wed before Thanksgiving and then again in 3 months to check the growth plate. So hopefully it will be ok.

Anyway then we had to race over to the indoor game and they got pummelled by this really intense team. We then had to grab some dinner and then head to AT&T. Of course they had NO way to check our router so we just had to buy another one and he said that if it wasn't the router we could bring it back. So we plugged in our old one and at first it worked but then it went out again so then Shane hooked up the new one and it must have been something with the old one cuz the new one is working now. Still ticks me off though cuz the old one only lasted 2 years!

Anyway so that took ALL flippin day. Anyway then we had to get up bright and early yesterday and go to our outdoor game and they won. It was Shelby's last outdoor game so it was nice to go out on a good note. Then Shane went to work and the girls and I just hung out at home and are still getting stuff together for next week.

Then today we headed out in the rain to do some more chores and now we are finally trying to relax before the craziness of next week.

Hope you guys are well and talk soon!!

i am happy to say that Tristan is FINALLY off he binky...we started using that "binky fairy" think you told us about Alison and although it took awhile he finally was able to let go...when any of us would say give it to the binky fairy he would think about it but then nothing...then after a while he would give us the binky and say here give it to the binky fairy but then would come back for it...however, since I started watching him on the regular I told him binky fairy came and took it and idk what she did with it...then on one dreadful awful day, his new doggie got ahold of it and tore it up and broke his little heart so we told him the binky fairy took it and was going to leave him money which he did and tiff took him to the store and he bought a big candy bar and cars :lmao: but since then hes been binky free:dance3::yay:thank god too because tiffany said if he wasnt off of them by the time his bday came around she was going to go in the house and take all of them...so his bday is next week and we dont have to worry about it now:lmao:

Kelmac..

my friend said they have had 70º days and that they would continue through this week when it will hit about 81º but then it supposed to go back down in the mid 70's while you are there with nights in the high 50's...no expected rain till the 19th..but a couple of days overcast...so you should have a pretty nice trip weather wise:thumbsup2

Morning and happy Monday!

Lynn thanks so much for checking with your friend. That is pretty much what I have been seeing as well on the 10 day so hopefully we brought the right clothes. :) I brought mostly summery stuff but also a few long pants and of course we are taking a jacket and I always buy at least one sweatshirt so if we have to we can recycle ;) Plus once we move to the timeshare we can do laundry so hopefully it isn't freezing but rather warm as the weather is predicting!! :)

It rained pretty good all day yesterday so we just stayed in and stayed dry.

I am trying to get all my last minute stuff done and last week I called in my refills on a couple of my meds and I was waiting to get that automated call from the pharmacy when they are done and wouldn't you know I hadn't gotten the call so I called THEM and sure enough there was a problem. My doc had called in ONE of them but not the other. I am SO disguested with not only this doc but how the ins companies do this. They literally make you wait till you are ALMOST out of your meds before they will allow a refill and then if you have ANY probs with your doc or anything then you take a chance of running out! Not to mention I have always wondered what would happen if I went on vacation BEFORE I could get my refill and I would run out ON vacation. I mean I may not always be able to get it refilled ON my trip! What if I was on a cruise or in Africa or something! STUPID!!

But anyway I am hoping I can just call today and they will fill it but I am SO frustrated with this doc and Katy has ONE more apt with the ortho and then I can switch! I can't wait. SO sick of this jerk!

Anyway hopefully if I can get this resolved then that should be the last of it.

I have to run in to work today and then again on Wed for the last minute stuff and today we have piano and have to run to the store since it was storming to hard yesterday. Then tomorrow mom and the girls and I are getting our first ever pedicures!! :)

We have always wanted to do it and thought it would be a fun way to kick off the trip!

So excited about that! Anyway that's bout it for me.

Hope everyone had a good weekend and talk to you all soon.

Kelly- ugh on insurance and wacky clinics!
Here's my take on the issues I see posted on Budget and community board..

People complain they were inpatient in the hospital.. no control over who you see and later find out the docs were not covered under their picky insurance.
Then you have your refill issue and timing it appropriately for vacations and general life.
Others posting about concierge style practices were you need to pay a huge fee to have the "privilege" of seeing the doctor.
Posters asking how best to pay off a medical bill or which plan to take with a HUGE deductible.. yadda yadda yadda

We wouldn't have these issues with a single payer system.
Clean the slate, everyone gets charged the same for procedures, every doctor and clinic is covered. Not necessarily socialized medicine.. just the payment of medical care to be streamlined.
