Chatterbox Thread-Cmon in and Jabber! Everyone is Welcome!

:rotfl2:

But not a naked dizzy?

:scared1:

:rotfl:

:lmao:

Nope - a fully covered dizzy. Debating turning the heater on - but I am sure I can resist for a bit longer....just had to break out the sweats and long sleeve shirt.

Besides...the back door to our porch is a sliding glass door - without any window coverings. Even though it backs to an acre that is ours - I still don't want to risk scaring any raccoons, skunks or unsuspecting hikers :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Carefully, without bending my head lower than needed, I made myself something to eat. Justin set up dialysis and got dh started.. ahhh life is good.
I think I need to stock up instant dinner type foods for these odd ball days... hunger free.. and the good of our marriage. :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2

I hear you there - DH and I rarely argue - but usually it is over what is for dinner :rotfl2:

Had to check ours out....High in the 50's every day - but it shows a picture of the good old sun :yay:. Hopefully we will catch a break - last year it snowed the week before Halloween :cold:

oh well, at least it's not a blizzard expected! Had one on Halloween once, fun times slogging thru snow while trick or treating. :lmao: Only in MN!

Hiya Ladies! Was going to multi quote and comment...but just don't want to deal with the dial up nightmare.

Hope everyone had a Wonderful Saturday. DD & I went over to Portland shopping in "the Hood". I got a belly dancing skirt sarong.:lmao: Now that might not sound so strange, except I have no idea how to belly dance. I was recording exercise shows from the Fit channel and they have a show called Shimmy. I teaches you how to belly dance...so I had my first belly dancing lesson tonite...I suck at it, but it's very relaxing and fun. My skirt/sarong whatever that thing is is hot pink with lots of jingly prety silverycoins and beads. It sounds awesome.:thumbsup2

Now that I've been given the ok from the physical therapist, it's time to start exercising.:thumbsup2

Morning and happy Sunday!

Welcome back home Dizzy! Hope your DL trip was fun!! :)

Oh man B snow already!! EEK! I know what you mean about the dh saying one thing and then doing another. Spork away my friend!! ;)

Yesterday I got up and even though my back was killing me I HAD to go out and run a loop cuz I was completely out of one of my meds so had to run to the pharmacy and hadn't been to the post office in almost a week and that is where we get our mail so figured better get over there in case any bills were waiting. Shelby got a progress report again which was dissapointing but luckily in only one area of math so not too big of a deal! And the best news is Katy got a letter that she might be accepted to GATE or the gifted program for next year so we are going to go to the meeting on Nov 1 to find out the info. It is so ironic too because her craptastic teacher last year that I could not stand gave her all really LOW grades and HORRIBLE citizenship grades and I knew I should have said something but I hate confrontations. Well her star tests have ALWAYS been above average and in the 90th percentile and last year was the ONLY year she didn't get any 4's and the first year she got any 2's or lower and the first year she didn't get all outstandings in citizenship. This lady gave her all s-'s. :( Total crap!

That is why I made SURE shelby did not get her this year!!! And it just PROVES that this lady is full of it because now she is accepted to GATE and esp when I got her star test results a few weeks ago. Made me wish I would have said something but if this EVER happens again and esp when she gets higher up and I know the grades count more I WILL say something. I wish I wouldn't have let myself been intimidated!

Anyway the weather was yucky all day yesterday so after my loop we pretty much just stayed in and shane and shelby went to the game and their winning streak finally ended. They got beat 3-0.

Then he spent all day trying to find someone to go with him and ended up drawing names between the girls and Katy won so he took her. She was SO excited and I think they had a good time. They texted me a few times but they got in pretty late so I didn't hear the whole thing. I LOVE Nickleback and would have loved to have seen them but there's no way I could have sat in those seats with my back! So I am glad Katy was able to go and enjoy herself.

The jury is out if we will try and go out today. It is not stroming as bad as they said it was going to but still ugly outside and my back is still hurting so we shall see.

Hope you all had a good day yesterday and have a good one today.

great site Bernice:thumbsup2 I really wish there was a way to get those redplum inserts without having to buy a paper...also the problem is that on sundays especially now, I dont want to get up and go out...too cold brrrrr....

you know Bernice's issue with not feeling like cooking and being hungry gave me an :idea:with people's busy schedules/economic issues etc...we should think of a recipe thats quick and easy to throw together thats also economic as well and that for the most part we have the ingredients on hand...if you dont want to play thats fine but Im gonna start..

this recipe is for my mac and cheese casserole...even if you arent a fan of the boxed mac and cheese you will like it if you are a cheddar cheese pasta lover....

2 boxes of Kraft Mac and Cheese or a good no brand substitute
2 bags of sharp shredded cheddar cheese
6 pieces of bread(even the ends will work)
butter or margarine

make the mac and cheese according to directions...once its made, take one bag of the cheese and put in the mac and cheese and stir till thoroughly mixed through
take 6 pieces of bread and butter them really REALLY well...put in the broiler till butter is melted and bread is really toasted...
removed toast and cut into cubes...add toast to the mac and cheese mixture and stir thoroughly
place in a buttered baking dish and put the 2nd bag of cheese over the top of the mixture..
bake in a 350º oven for about 20 to 25 min...remove from oven and let sit about 10 minutes...serve

I like to eat this with fish sticks...you can even cut up some ham and put in the mixture if you want or you can just eat it by itself...most people have these ingredients in their house anyway right? its such a perfect comfort food and great when its chilly outside:goodvibes

anyone else want to have a go?

I got nothing - we suck at quick meals. We can make a pretty dang good meal if we have the time - but nothing quick or cheap...but I will patiently await any others suggestions popcorn::

Lynn, you're talking to the pantry queen here. You could give me a recipe and I probably could make just about anything, because I have just about everything including 20+ boxes of cereal, 15 bags of various pasta, 20 jars of peanut butter, a freezer full of meat, well you get the picture.:rotfl:

My big problem is I'm not creative enough to think of what to make. I know that sounds stupid, but I am totally uncreative. I can't paint, sew or think of what to cook. But give me a recipe & I can make it.:thumbsup2 I think that's why these menu planning meals are working so good for me. Most of the time I have 70% of the ingredients listed in my pantry...I just can't think of what to make on my own.:sad2:

In a pinch I'm currently making homemade clam chowder, chicken & artichoke bake, hoison sauce salmon or cheese ravioli w/chicken & cream pesto ....cuz those are the freezer meals I made today!:rotfl2:

wow look at you miss energy queen...:dance3:...those days are over for me...I remember I used to do stuff like that on a weekend so it was easier for me to make dinner during the weekdays but not anymore:sad2:

Lynn, Did you read her post thoroughly? :rotfl: Did you notice, the part about it being frozen to begin with? :rotfl:

Alison, you got her! Yuk yuk!

So, besides that....how are you Lynn? The last time I saw you, you looked so great and seemed so happy. I hope that is still true. :thumbsup2
Since, then I have 2 new grandchildren. I am blessed. :goodvibes

BTW- One of our all time favorite recipes is your Apricot jam/slow cooker chicken on white rice. Yum yum!

Hi everyone else.
Burrrr cold Bernice! :cold:

It sucks, I know, to realize that your conditions limit you.

This year that has been me.. the last few days E made meals as I was terribly terribly dizzy. (well except for that one spork worthy moment :rolleyes1
And he's giving me that stare, that stop being sick because I don't know if I can handle it stare.

It's really fun when he is tired or "off" and I'm out of commission too.
I don't think two "ill people" are suppose to be husband and wife. :lmao:

We made the apricot/catalina/onion mix chicken thighs in the oven this week mmmmmmmmm, I think it would be better skinless and let it caramelize a little.
And an all fruit preserve to cut back on the sugar high.

Hey Alison, you out beat me in cereal. I had 30 at one point, as soon as the inlaws came to visit I ditched a bunch of it. :thumbsup2
My stash of P butter dwindled away and the last sale.. well it wasn't really a sale.. pooo!

Now if we talk tomato products, I can hook ya all up. I have waaaaaaaaaaay too much.

haha oh man I thought she meant the meals she made today were made and then she froze them...yeah she did get me...

Actually, I think that is exactly what she did. She sends me a copy of the menu plan service. The last one had all those freezer meals. :)
