Chatterbox Thread-Cmon in and Jabber! Everyone is Welcome!

SO SO SO SO MUCH FUN!! We had a blast, can you tell?? :lmao: The best part for me was the fish eye balls. I laughed so hard I almost peed my pants. It was awesome. :thumbsup2 If anyone needs a laugh, I highly recommend giving ALison some bubble tea with tapioca in it.. I think she was just expecting the tapioca that comes in the pudding.. Not the giant jelly balls. It was great. B. You can get bubble tea without tapioca.. It really just tastes like a fruit slushy.

The movie was AMAZING. So funny!! What a great chick flick. I laughed so hard I cried! Dinner was YUM! Alison sent home all the leftovers with me, and my kids, and husband loved it. They chowed through it all in about 15 minutes. It was so nice to be out with an adult and have so much chatty time. I had a freaking blast.

On another note.. The diapered baby?? Oh yeah. His mom got the smack down laid upon her by the apartment folks.. It has been an issue for a while With him running around the complex unsupervised, and Tony, the maintinence guy who lives on property.. Im guessing he was the guy you saw when you came to pick me up Alison.. He told the mom if they see the baby outside again by himself they are going to get evicted. :thumbsup2

Ugh.. So after I get home Saturday I had some messages waiting for me on FB. One of the twin mommas from my twin boards had a second set of twins back in March. She had REALLY bad PPD after the first set, and everyone was worried about her having the second set. I guess it has been really bad for her. Anyways.. She has an apartment in Paris, and she went there to get away and ODed.. Bad. She was in a coma, and on Saturday, it looked really bad. She has 7 kids. I was just a basket case all night. But it seems that she has plled through okay. I dont know. She is off the vent and awake. All I know. Scary stuff. PPD is horrid.

Saturday night we went to Dh's buddies house for a few hours. That was fun. We played games and such. I had to sit out in the van for a bit... SO embarrassing to start crying in front of my husbands friends. But I pulled it together and had a good time. Then yesterday we got up and going early.. I woke Julie to see if she wanted to come and she decided to stay home, so it was a stress free.. teen free day! Just breakfast and shopping, but it was nice.

BTW.. I hate pants. But not as much as I hate bras. Be glad I remembered to put one on Saturday.. I have a habit of forgetting. Nothing would have been more fun to explain to your husband that you fat friend gave you the black eye because she forgot her bra, and laughed to hard at the movies. :lmao::rotfl2:

Oh yeah!! You forgot the fat girl store! I took Alison to Torrid.. It is owned by Hot Topic, but is for Plus sized gals like myself.. I was looking for shoes, but it seems their shoes are mainly for drag queens, because they were mostly a size 11 or 12. But I bought some ruffly, lacy unders.. Which was greatly appreciated by my husband. Unfortunately.. I dont think I can actually wear them under pants. To much ruffles.

I alternate between drooling and laughing at Torrid. I wonder who is the buyer for their clothes .. cross dresser or really cheap prostitute because some of it is really OUT THERE and then they have like a cutesy dress you could wear to church.. weirdness.. but dang cute undies!:thumbsup2

I don't know if anybody is ready for this part of the adventure, but I soon learn that Megan & I are really perverts.

Seems Megan likes to chat on the internet when she's 8 months pregnant while wearing only underwear on the bottom, no pants!:scared1: She said it was due to the pregnancy, but do you notice how she has 4 kids? Could be that she uses the pregnancy as an excuse to not wear pants???:rotfl:

I sit watching the movie and due to the excess buttery, I start losing popcorn down my shirt. Well eventually I decide that I have way too much popcorn stuck in my bra, so it must be removed. I secretly steal glances over at Megan and pray that she doesn't turn and look at me as I have my arm clear down to my elbow stuck down the front of my bra in the middle of the movie theater! I know when she asked me where I wanted to sit, I should have said the back. After all isn't that where all the perverts sit at the movies?:rotfl2:

Wow, does it get anymore magical then this?:wizard::wizard::wizard:

:rotfl:

psssssssssst, I hate wearing pants sitting at the computer too
I have this over sized "big girl" polo tunic that is suppose to be worn with leggings, but since I am short it's more like wearing a short mini skirt/dress.
It's my go-to item in the evening, walk in the door and strip! I have teen boys, a dh that pops in and out the door all night for a smoke and mormie missionary 19 yr old neighbors.. gotta cover the tush.

I tend to wear lower cut and v neck tops, easier for anything to fall in! I am always plucking food out of my bra. And pennies.. yes.. my dh delights in trying to pitch pennies down my shirt. :sad2:

And also where I, the country hick decide that the Dyson hand dryers are too cool! Seriously, I could have just stood in the bathroom all day and dried my hands. It was almost as cool as the Chicago airport plastic toilet seat covers that change themselves.
:thumbsup2

They leave behind a list of calories & fat that each menu item has. We are shocked:scared1: at the fat & calories in these items.

:lmao:

I groove on watching the skin on topside of my hands be blown around in big wrinkles.. freaky to watch. And yeah O'hare toilets... creepy and intriguing all in one.

tsk tsk.. There are NO calories when out with a friend!
And yep I agree on the cheesecake, bought some at Sam's Club one time.. blah taste. Grocery bakery tasted way better!

You know B. we were thinking it was too bad you lived clear in MN. It would have been fun to hang out, just the 3 of us. Brings back memories of last February's soggy DL trip.:rotfl2:

:goodvibes

Wow, so SS finally sent a letter.
Boy did they ever screw up Eloy's benefits!

:headache::headache::headache::headache::headache:

No back pay mentioned, no notice of boys benefit amount and a totally random amount of overpayment due that is no where close to what we owe.

Our records show he owes $13,000 in total (includes boys benefits) , letter says $47,000

It mentions that since the state is paying for the Medicare premium "you may be reimbursed" , well we did pay for 6 months worth .. only to find later he didn't need to pay. But they never gave back the money.
Interestingly, the small amount he recently got EXACTLY matches to the penny the amount of the Medicare premium we paid.
But SS listed in the letter that amount as "for the month of August benefits".

Typically when there is a deposit into dh's account it will say "Social Security payment for (person's name)" This randomly deposited amount, that matches the Medicare premium refund, does not designate a person's name. It just says " Social Security deposit".

Now, if they are counting his August deferred pay checks (earned during the school year, opted as 26 pay periods for the full calendar year vs school year of 21 pay) as "earned income"... he technically earned too much to get ANY disability for August. He shouldn't get ANY benefit payment in September for August (they work backwards so October deposit will be for September).

But if the deferred payment doesn't count as "earned", he should have got back pay for July and August of FULL payment benefit months. They don't do partial months, partial disability.

(He got one regular check in June that would count as "earned" and over the allowed amount.. so no benefit for June/paid in July)

The other screwy thing, they enclosed a booklet regarding retirement benefits.. which is a whole different creature than disability! :sad2:

-------------------------------------------------
Phone to be glued to Eloy's ear in the morning to straighten this out ARGH!

Happier news.. we went on a grand adventure exploring St Paul for Eloy's appt.. doesn't need surgery! :yay: Ate at Mickey's Diner (featured on various TV shows like Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives) which was cool! It's an old street car, registered historical landmark, typical greasy spoon fare but yum!

Traveled back to Mpls and adventured into Northeast which has many ethnic stores and restaurants. We were perusing through an international grocery store, looking at the odd to us imported foods. I started to say " oh look they have..." and as I pointed at a bag of beans a nasty-freak-me-out-gross cockroach went running by. :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1: OMG OMG OMG! We turned tail and booked it out of there! ewwwwwwwwwwwwww!

Laughed ourselves silly, cautiously looked into a mexican grocery.. very clean, tidy, no freaky bugs in site. Clothing store.. fun! And our fave Holy Land Bakery and Deli.. mmmm Totally safe, clean and busy with lots of shoppers in the grocery section. Will have to go back and indulge on some treats. :goodvibes

Oh man what a mess! Sounds like a nightmare! I hope you get it all worked out!!

Just got back from piano and shelby has her first recital already next Friday night. So exciting. Plus we have a school performance on Thurs for their 50th anniversary. The girls are each performing a song. So it is going to be a pretty exciting week next week!! :)

Anyway I am off to the school board meeting and REALLY hope it goes well!!

Wow B. that SS stuff is absolutely crazy! I hope they get it all straightened out soon.

And yes, I agree, those O'Hare seats are freaky. I mean where does that plastic go? They have to put up a sign telling you that the plastic is clean, yet you can't see where it goes. :confused3 I think it's their idea of a joke or something.:lmao:

Kelly, lucky you...I love homemade bread!:thumbsup2

Megan, I'm sorry but that bubble tea is just nasty stuff.:eek::eek: I know it's supposed to be tapioca balls, but seriously it looks like unhatched frog eggs, like if they sat in there for abou 2 more hours they would turn into tadpoles.:rotfl2: It just freaked me the heck out and I don't find many foods that freak me the heck out.

BLACK BUBBLE TEA TAPIOCA, FISH EGGS OR FROG EGGS??? YOU TELL ME WHICH IS WHICH!!!

Think I'll wander on over to the budget board and cause a bit of havoc this evening.

Last time I was over there I found myself arguing with people that insisted that there was nothing wrong with having lots of consumer debt. I just finally left the thread. Seriously, you cannot convince me that having lots of debt is good.:rotfl2:

Morning all and happy Tuesday!!

Uh Alison I have never even HEARD of Bubble tea but I have to agree that looks uh GROSS! Sorry Megan LOL.

Went to the meeting last night and it was just about how I thought it would be. I was dissapointed at first that so many parents didn't bother to show because this is a really important thing and it bugs me how many parents DON'T care when it comes to their kids education but those of us who DID show up WOW!

There were some REAL hot heads. Right from the start this one dude went off and they threatened to remove him several times. I wanted to crawl under my chair FOR him.

I don't know if any of the stuff we said will do any good. It certainly didn't when they closed our old school so who knows. And of course they are supposed to make a decision while I am on vacation so I am going to see if I can get one of my friends to e-mail me. But anyway I hope that it goes well but am figuring on the worst.

And today I am off to work and they are having a birthday lunch for one of the gals so hopefully that will be fun.

New show starting tonight so anxious to see that and girls have soccer practice. Then tomorrow night my uncle is turning 91 so we are having dinner either at my parents or going out. So looking forward to that as well.

Anyway that's bout it for me.

Have a good day all!

Nice comparison pics there Alison! Now I have to try bubble tea, just to say I survived the tadpole eyes!:lmao:

It depends on how much the school district "listens" to the community and the hard facts of the budget.. guessing the move is budget related? I know Mpls schools had meetings where the community was VERY vocal, every chair full and overflowing crowd. But something had to be done to work with budget shortfalls, several schools were consolidated and new lines were drawn. Forcing families to stay within neighborhood schools if they wanted transportation. Prior to that the district was "open", a family could apply to any school in the district and would get transportation. Which could be an integration issue as some neighborhoods are not "balanced" in terms of race.

MN Governor used an old law to balance the budget.. he opted to not pay the schools with a promise that they will receive payment "later". That is NOT how a budget works-- idiot! :sad2:

However, I know in another city they moved 5th and 6th to a middle school format for one year, only to close/ consolidate those 5-8 th middle schools and move the 5th-6th back to Elementary.

This has been my morning with the phone calls!

 :badpc: :badpc: :furious:  :crazy2:

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGHHH!

First E checks the automated system to see if the county case worker has done her job yet.. nope. Message left. -- This was the easiest portion of the morning thus far.

next he calls SS, they have a robot voice system to direct your call. He says "question about a letter" it starts to go thru some process to ask more questions and make the connection. He BURPS into the phone and the robot gets confused and sends him to some weird connection. Only MY dh would do such a thing! :lmao::rotfl2:

He's lost in switch board land so he redials, sans burps or coughs, and asks for an agent.

He starts to tell the agent about the letter and the discrepancies, the agent complains he can't hear Eloy.. Eloy is now yelling into the phone to be heard, like old people when they call long distance.. it's far away so we must yell right?

He points out the payment received matches the Medicare premium refund, the agent tells him he doesn't know. uhhh okay? STRIKE ONE

He asks about the boys benefits. Agent replies I don't have that info, you should get a letter later. STRIKE TWO

He asks what the deal is with the overpayment amount, the agent tells us some other magically created amount that does NOT match the letter. He asks, why is there no consistency? The agent replies, your case file is huge, you have too many questions and I can't help you. STRIKE THREE and were OUT!

Back to the plate yet again and we are going nowhere as the pitcher is totally clueless!!!

Not sure if I should stomp feet, cry or laugh!

:faint:

Hello Ladies + Albort,

I just wanted to stop by and say hi. :) I've been busy these past couple of days and haven't been on the DIS. I got together with friends, went to the gym, my hip hop class. It was so fun because my bro and 2 of my friends + 1 of their friends, joined to try it out. It was fun and my teacher told me that in the beginning, she saw how stiff I was and just wasn't moving and now I have found my rhythm :rotfl: It's so fun and I really enjoy it. It's a great outlet to just have fun and burn calories too :rotfl:

Staley- you are so funny! :rotfl: I don't like Tapioca drinks. I just never liked it. Over here it's called Bubble Tea or Boba.

I'm going to Zuma class tonight. :thumbsup2 Last time DBF asked me why I don't "shake it" as much as some of the other ladies in the class. (The room that they do the classes in is right in the middle of the gym and is made of glass so everyone can see in). He said I dance more when we go out dancing. I told him that's because I usually have a few alcoholic beverages in me first so I don't care how I'm dancing. :lmao:

:rotfl: I think zumba looks fun, especially the latin one I saw yesterday (before my hip hop class). It looked nothing like the one I saw at the other gym with that crazy booty-grabbing woman! :rotfl: I called that place today to see if the normal funk teacher was back. They told me she is still out and they don't know for how long. So in the mean time, it's that crazy woman again. At least I called ahead this time to check instead of showing up and being like: "Dang it!! Not again!" :sad2: :rotfl:

Drive by Hi!! :car:

I had a fabulous time in Vegas. It was nice to get away.

Now it's back to the real world. I'm busy with grandchildren, costumes, scrapbooks, decorating, church and helping Becky in her class. This week we are doing batiking (sp?)with the kids.

Hope all is well! :goodvibes

Morning all and happy wednesday/hump day.

Oh man B what a mess with the SS. I sure hope you get some resolution soon!! And as far as our school thing I don't know how much of it is fueled by money or not. They claim that because of declining enrollment and desire for 6th grade at the middle schools that they want to do away with it at the elementary level but the problem is the parents don't want it and we feel that they are not thinking about the social impact on the kids. In my opinion jr high is the toughest few years of all school and I don't think a lot of 6th graders are mentally or socially ready to be around kids as old as possibly 14 or 15.

But if it is anything like all the other things that have gone on what don't REALLY have a choice even though they say it's not a done deal. So who knows.

Rochelle good luck in your class with the crazy lady!! ;) If it were me I might skip it and do something else till the regular teacher came back. :)

Mel good to see you and glad you had fun on your trip.

Yesterday I went in to work and it was crazy as always and mom was in a really bad mood so I couldn't wait to get out of there. She had a bunch of deals that weren't going well and on top of it our office manager's computer was down and we don't really have the money to replace it right now. We were supposed to have a birthday lunch as well for one of the agents but I think she could tell that everyone was in a pissy mood so she suggested holding off till next week which I think was a good idea!! I don't blame her I wouldn't want anyone acting like that either!

Anyway then I just came home and tried to stay cool but I had to go back out and pick up the girls and it was 106 and by the time I got home I had a nasty migraine from the heat. BLEH! So I was glad to not have to go BACK out to soccer and I don't really approve of having practice when it is that hot but Shane is obsessed so whatever!

Anyway today I just have chores and such and then at 11 I am running over to the girl's school to watch them in their jogathon and take pics. They do it every year but this is the first year I am going to go and watch.

Then tonight we are going to mom's and not sure if she is cooking or we are going out but it is my uncle's birthday so we are going to celebrate with him. He had a BIG 90th birthday bash last year with a ton of family but this year no one seemed to even remember which is really sad so we are doing something for him. His health is not good and I fear he won't have too many more birthdays. :(

Anyway that's bout it for me. Have a great day all!!

Kelly- I'm not taking that class again with that crazy lady :rotfl: :lmao: I had a free membership trial there and that class was just to take with 2 friends of mine. I will look for another class elsewhere. I also have an appointment coming up to meet with a counselor at a local college. I just want to see what classes I need to take to get my degree. :)

Oh good she sounded like a nutball!! LOL. Good luck finding a better class. I SOOO need to get back to working out! I have gained back ALL the weight I lost and probably then some. Part of it was the meds I was taking and part was because I have been so sick this past year and unable to exercise. It sucks cuz you work SO hard to lose and then it just flies back on so easily. I have NO clothes to wear on our trip in Nov :( Oh well it will be motivation to lose!! ;)

Good luck at school and I hope you find some interesting classes!!
