AWESOME!!!! That is absolutely fantastic!!!!!! I hope he doesnt revert back now that he is home. but probably not! Im so excited for you!! Now he just has to sleep in his own bed, and he is ALL big boy!!!

Oh, and he napped twice in his own bed, and slept twice in his brother's room. (Once on the floor with a pillow and blankets, a la slumber party, and once all snuggled up in his brother's bed. So cute!)

Should we do the princess lunch, or dinner? I am thinking dinner.. That way we can take Mikalah over to Libby Lu's to get all done up, and she wont have to wear her dress during the heat of the day... If it even is hot.. Yeah... I think that is what we will do.

Why guilt? Didnt dh tell you to take the beaties? If ds 7 doesnt want to go, Ill bet he would willingly stay home again. Or with your father in law. Ill bet he would help out with him.

Heat and crowds.. I cant help you there. If you go in the summer it will be HOT! I dont know about crowds... I have heard they are down this summer, but I dont know for sure.

Did I not tell you my theory? I read somewhere that with gas prices up so high people are cutting back on luxuries. Seems to me that would include travel, especially a trip like DL. I think that's why crowds are down this summer.

That's part of why I want to go, because likely this might be a fairly good time to go...

Yep, you told me. Trust me, the cost of everything is going up.. Have you browsed the CB? People are cutting back on vacations and other stuff all over the place.

I don't know. I guess I feel guilty spending money like that when DH isn't there. He's the one who really needs to take a break. But he doesn't.

I did enjoy the trip with DS4 last Feb. But I think DS7 did feel like he missed out. I don't know...

So take them both. Trust me, you hubby will get a GOOD break it just being him in the house. You shouldnt feel guilty. I have taken the kids away without Frelan, and I dont feel guilty AT ALL. Heck, he is getting the a GREAT DEAL! I am taking the kids for a weekend, and he gets to hang out and do what he needs to do in peace and quiet? Sounds relaxing to me. I wish he would take the kids away for a weekend.. Just think of how clean my house would be!

When I went to Australia in 1979, a gallon of gas cost I think around $1.50, and in Australia an Imperial gallon (smaller than a US gallon) cost over $3. So I just keep that in mind these days.

$1.50??? Really? Thats crazy because when I was 19 or 20 gas was $.99 a gallon.

In Europe gas is like $8.00 a gallon... Thats why no one drives SUVs. Canada is really high too..

I remember Australians asking me why Americans drove such big cars. My parents drove a tiny Datsun and a van, and we used the van for camping, hauling wood, getting groceries, etc. My dad used it for hunting and fishing, hauling his boat.

This one family I stayed with had...6 kids? Or was it 7? And each of the parents drove a small car; one was a tiny Audi, and I don't remember the other. How on earth did their entire family do ANYTHING???

Indeed I am sure.. and it was about 7 or 8 years ago. Of course it was just at an AMPM down the street from my house. But every where else was in the same general area.. I know it probably wasnt more then $1.20 or so at the more expensive places.
