I'm hungry, but nothing sounds good. :(

So I'm munching on apple slices and sipping a diet pepsi. DS7 wanted a sandwich and a cut-up apple, so (since he's been complaining about every little thing I make him lately) I told him he could make his sandwich and I'd cut the apple.

So he took forever and spread the peanut butter and jelly sooooooo carefully (i had to keep from laughing, I swear it was about 10 minutes!) I told him he was old enough to be making his own sandwiches now, and he squeaked, "Nooooo, Mama! I LIKE your sandwiches best!"

Izzat right? That's why I hear "I don't like butter on my sandwich, you ALWAYS put butter on it!" or "I HATE that kind of sandwich, I wanted THIS kind." :sad2:

He said quietly, "You're still gonna make my sandwiches for school, aren't you?" :scared1: :lmao:

:lmao: I hope that means he stops complaining about it! OR ELSE!;) :rotfl2:

I know, that's what I'm hoping! "All right, Mr. Picky, you can do it yourself then!"

And honestly, I think I still do too much for them, it's better for him to start learning how to do more things for himself and help out more for the whole family. My mom did everything for us, as her mom did for her kids, and because of that I never learned to cook or garden or clean or any of that. I'd love it if the boys learned some things as they grew so they weren't flying blind once they're on their own the first time, you know?

Oh trust me.. I KNOW. I was cooking for the family since elementary school.. Doing all our laundry, and cleaning house. I KNOW how to do everything. Good thing, because dh's mom did EVERYTHING for him. Really. I had to teach him how to load a dishwasher, make top ramen.. EVERYTHING.

Even though I stay home, my kids still have chores. Clean their room, pick up around the house. Alex helps me in the kitchen sometimes.. Heck, so does Mikalah! Alex has vacuumed.. Not well, but he can do it! This weekend in fact, they will get to spend it cleaning out their room and scrubbing the walls. Seeing as how they spent the morning coloring on the walls. :headache:

Noooo! :lmao:

Oh boy, bet they won't do that again anytime soon! DS4 has a fascination with writing on doors, walls and floors (and his carseat!) Crayons, markers, and pencil have been his medium. :headache:

Each time we discovered something, we yelled, pointed, scolded, and said, "Don't EVER do anything like that again!" And he didn't... for awhile...

At least he hasn't touched the walls in awhile, though he did get a yellow crayong rubbed all over his car seat buckle and a bit on the (dark blue) fabric. But I still get nervous when he gets out markers at home and try to make sure they ALL get put away.

Not too much! I'm excited that I finally have a little bit of time to DIS and someone's actually on too. :rotfl:
Hi, Sarah!

When do you start the sewing courses? (Was it at a technical college? I don't remember exactly...)

It's keeping me BUSY! :rotfl:
:thumbsup2

Ill bet they dont. Especially after they spend the weekend scrubbing it off the walls. I am not doing it.

Hello Hyenas! :smooth:

I just dropped my grandmother off at her doctor's appointment. It's about 20 minutes away and the traffic was terrible (road construction). :faint:

OK, this is totally silly, but I'm watching Rachel Ray. She's going to have a story on women over 40 getting breast implants. I gather 3 or so women who've had them and a woman who thinks it shouldn't be done. One comment was, "Is it right for a woman in her 40s to have breasts that look like a woman in her 20s?" Hmmmm... I wouldn't want to look oddly unnatural, but if they looked GOOD and not freakish, heck yeah! :rotfl:

But I'm more worried about health concerns, and I think they're going to talk about that, too. With a family history of breast cancer, I would never even consider something like that if it could mask a problem.

mmmmm... meatballs are in the oven! YUM!!

You know, I am in my 20's and mine pretty much look like crap. I dont want implants RIGHT NOW... But when I lose weight, HECK YEAH!! I know what they look like after a big weight loss, and it isnt pretty.

So far she's talked to two women about their "girls". One got implants, one is considering them. The first one always had a healthy self-esteem, just felt "deflated" after growing to DD during pregnancy and going back to an A afterward. So she got Ds and is very happy, very satisfied. The other one lives in LA, home of the plastic people, and says she's constantly being teased for being flat-chested. She's the one worried about looking ridiculous if she gets them, and worried about health risks, etc.

Now Rachel's talking with a plastic surgeon and a psychologist.

Meatballs, YUM!

Yeah, I don't really know what to expect. Mine went up a cup size in my 20s, but that's also when I gained weight, so if I lost a bunch of weight I'm guessing they'd deflate. :rotfl:

And I'm not sure I'd look to increase the size necessarily, but maybe just firm them up, you know? Breastfeeding did a number on them. ;)

Hiya Ladies, just a quick howdy do!

As expected proctor mom didn't answer any of the phones. My sister left messages, went to home and left a message on the door.....

Stopped by to visit Tyler. Would like to see him and take him to visit family for a couple of days. Please call me today and let me know what time he will be available to pick up.

Oh and might I add she wrote the message on the back of her Mapquest directions to the attorney's office!:rotfl2:

In one way I'm glad that a personal exchange didn't take place. Unlike me, my sister is not nearly as feisty and would probably start crying. All we can do now is wait....for either a call back from proctor mom or Thursday when the judge will hopefully lift the order.

In the meantime our attorney is also filing guardianship paperwork. This guardianship paperwork will not be valid while he is a minor (with the current temporary custody order). But if the order is dropped, my sister will once again have legal custody and could possibly have guardianship as well. With either one she can legally take him to Florida. The legal custody will obviously expire in August when he turns 18, however the guardianship will not.

So far our attorney is not very impressed with proctor mom's attorney. Plus with my sister asking for visitation, this will also prove just how good her attorney is....if proctor mom calls attorney, a good attorney will tell her to allow it to prove she is not withholding the child from his natural family. Then that attorney will hope that my sister runs with him (which of course she won't). If she doesn't consult her attorney or the attorney isn't very good then they will refuse natural mom's visits.

So at this point it's just a waiting game. We are hoping the judge lifts the order on Thursday and cancels the August 15th court date (1 day before his 18th birthday). If that happens we will get my sister "outta Dodge" and on a plane to Florida, possibly via another airport in the NW so there is no chance of her being served with any more surprises in Oregon! The attorney said that the judge might also lift the order, but tell my sister to still show up for the court date on August 15th. We don't even want to go there....and odds are she would still get custody as the natural parent. But there are no guarantees as to what the judge will do.
