Chattanooga area?

We are starting our drive to WDW on Thursday from the St Louis area - we've made this drive several times. But this time we are planning to spend the first night on the way down in the Chattanooga area. Plans just changed and we decided to leave a little earlier on Thursday than we had planned - so now I'm looking for something to occupy us for a couple hours on Thursday.

Anyone have a fun restaurant or sights to see in the Chattanooga area that aren't budget busters? Or if you can even think of something else on that drive we've neglected to stop and see before I would love those ideas too!

The Tennessee Aquarium is great, if you haven't been there give it a try.

Chattanooga is a great city with tons of stuff to do. Some of our favorites:

• Chattanooga Ducks
• Tennessee Aquarium
• Rock City Gardens
• Walking along the river front

I highly recommend eating at Champy's.

Very safe, it's all built out for tourists.

Very. I've never felt unsafe there. It's a great city for walking. We typically park somewhere downtown and walk everywhere. It's my favorite city for a weekend getaway.

Oh, there's a really nice park on the north side of the river by the pedestrian bridge.

Thanks so much! Looks perfect for what I was looking for with plenty of restaurants down there to choose from and some other activities. My oldest son loves Moon Pies and I see there is a Moon Pie General Store down there as well.

The Maple Street Biscuit Company is really good.

Community Pie has great pizza a large selection of beers.

The Blue Plate has good, slightly upscale, diner food.
