Hiya I've wittled down a list of villas to 2 houses (a minor fete in itself seeing as how many villas are up for rent in the Orlando area!!) and wondered if anyone could give me their views on the areas please?

The houses are in Chatham Park and Indian Ridge, we like both so the decision is all down to the surrounding area. We have stayed at Indian Creek before and liked it and liked the way it was peaceful once you were off the I192, presumably Indian Ridge is the same as its in the same area as Indian Creek.

Do you get the feeling of tranquility once your off the main road with Chatham Park? We also like the short time it took to get to the Disney parks from Indian Creek, looking at Google maps its quoting a few minutes extra to get to them from Chatham Park, approx 20 mins as opposed to 17/18 from indian Creek. Does it seem like 20 mins when your driving or is the traffic at that end of the I192 busier than the west side?

Any views you could give me would be much appreciated as I'm sat here talking to myself arguing the toss for both of them !! :confused3

We stayed at Chatham Park in 2004 and it was really nice and quiet, we had a lovely villa which backed onto a lake (I think). I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the location to anyone.

We stayed in Chatham Park twice and found it very peacfull. Nice development of three and four bedroom homes. Would stay there again for our Nov 2010 trip but decided to give WH a try after reading all the reviews.

Good morning,
We lived in Indian Ridge for 3 months in the winter and know it quite well.
It is a developement that is about 1/2 owner occupied so you will have kids getting on school buses, folks walking pets, as well as weekly renters. The homes are simple 3-4 bedroom homes on nice size lots. There is more space between homes than most other rental communities. These homes were built in late 80's early 90's so are not spanking new with lots of fancy extras, but we found them to be very comfortable. I especially liked the large walk in tile showers in the master bath and the door directly to the pool throught the master bath so you could go directly from pool to shower without tracking through the living area. If you have diagram see if it has that feature. Most of the homes do, I think.
It is a great location to Disney, even closer than Indian Creek. Just a short drive up Old Lake Wilson, right on 192 to Disney entrance...less than 10 minutes to the entrance.
CPark is off Poinciana. Totally different location in terms of access to Disney. If you use 192 west to get to Disney, traffic lights and traffic will be a hassle.

Easiest way to Disney, about fifteen minutes is Poinciana to 192, STRAIGHT across 192 a mile and left on Osceola Parkway toll for 75 cents. Have 3 quarters ready at the entrance. Slick easy access to all Disney stuff as it goes right into Disney in a couple of miles.
Homes in Chatham will probably be newer and you will have to look at the extras like bedsizes, TV,s cost of rental and pool heat. In my opinion without seeing the homes I would guess IR will be a little more basic, roomy but simple and a bit easier to Disney.

Hard to go wrong...enjoy...Ted

We have stayed at both places. We prefer Chatham Park. You can get to Disney within 10 minutes from that area, we have done this on numerous occasions of using the 192. Sea World is only 15 minutes away. We found there was more restaurants to choose from at Chatham on the 192. Walmart is only 2 minutes drive away.
We have being in traffic jams from Indian Ridge area trying to get onto the I4.
If you want to spend all your time at Disney I would probably choice Indian Ridge as it is closer to Disney.
