Chat Feature

Now that there’s no “email us” link that I can find anywhere on the member website, I too will be using Chat more often. I’m glad there’s a mechanism to save the conversation.

Yes! I love the chat feature!! Not only does it save a lot of time for simple tasks (like switching the lead guest on a res), but they can also let you know how long the wait is for a phone call & I’ve even been given a “back door” phone number directly to the department that could help me with an AP issue when the regular AP line was slammed with cancellation requests (it took a couple hour wait down to less than 10 minutes- it was great!) 👍
 
I actually asked today while I was on chat to put in a room request about whether we can still email MS since the email option/address isn't on the website anymore. The CM said yes and gave me the email address members@disneyvacationclub.com .

I figured we still could it’s just disappointing that it’s not there. That means it’s not as easy to do.

Chat is only there when someone is free to take a chat. If no one from Disney is there to take chats or they already are helping the max number of people it will be removed from the site.

Its weird but it happens all the time.

Normally you will see the chat in the morning but not later in the day. I will typically just randomly refresh or try the next morning to get someone if its not something I need to call about.

I will also say certain parts of the site will have it show up while others dont.

I was talking about the Email link being gone, not Chat. I have had great luck with them and if it is not there, I just toggle around!!!

Recently when I've used the chat feature it will actually sometimes be there when nobody is available. You can still click into it and it will occasionally update telling you where you are in the queue and your anticipated wait time.....
 
Where is the chat feature located? I cannot find it. I used to see email under contact us tab...
 
Check “help and contact” tab to see if “chat with a cast member” is available in the drop-down menu or look for the chat tab on the right side of the webpage.

Just mentioned this in the Waitlist thread - based on advice here, I just used chat to confirm a waitlist for one day in the middle of our trip that I have been trying for the past week to pick up. Through the chat I was able to confirm the waitlist had come through and I now have the reservation and they will combine all three days into one reservation.

Had your waitlist disappeared from your dashboard? As in is that why you asked or did you just ask "just in case"?

ETA: I ask because I noticed a waitlist we are waiting for had a nights around it open up but not the one we want. Just wondering if it got held back due to our waitlist.....

I have not (yet) linked a specific part of the DVC site to “activate” the chat feature, but going to the resorts page on the regular Disney/MDE site is pretty much guaranteed to see the pop-up 😉

They cannot answer the same questions as the DVC chat people can.
