Now that there’s no “email us” link that I can find anywhere on the member website, I too will be using Chat more often. I’m glad there’s a mechanism to save the conversation.
I actually asked today while I was on chat to put in a room request about whether we can still email MS since the email option/address isn't on the website anymore. The CM said yes and gave me the email address members@disneyvacationclub.com .I am so disappointed that is gone. I am hoping it is just a glitch.

Chat is only there when someone is free to take a chat. If no one from Disney is there to take chats or they already are helping the max number of people it will be removed from the site.
Its weird but it happens all the time.
Normally you will see the chat in the morning but not later in the day. I will typically just randomly refresh or try the next morning to get someone if its not something I need to call about.
I will also say certain parts of the site will have it show up while others dont.
Recently when I've used the chat feature it will actually sometimes be there when nobody is available. You can still click into it and it will occasionally update telling you where you are in the queue and your anticipated wait time.....Chat is only there when someone is free to take a chat. Had your waitlist disappeared from your dashboard? As in is that why you asked or did you just ask "just in case"?Just mentioned this in the Waitlist thread - based on advice here, I just used chat to confirm a waitlist for one day in the middle of our trip that I have been trying for the past week to pick up. Through the chat I was able to confirm the waitlist had come through and I now have the reservation and they will combine all three days into one reservation.

ETA: I ask because I noticed a waitlist we are waiting for had a nights around it open up but not the one we want. Just wondering if it got held back due to our waitlist.....
