Chase Sapphire Reserve Rumored Change

That's not an issue for us. The Executive Membership which gives another 2% on Costco purchases, including Costco travel, rebates us almost enough to cover the membership. With the 5% on gas, 3% on travel, 3% on dining, and the fact that we are about a mile from Costco it works for us, YMMV.

I keep trying but I cant seem to justify the $695+ annual fee. I did get an AMEX Platinum welcome bonus offer of 175,000 miles and that may tip the scales but I don't like the coupons. If it feels like work, I'm not interested.
I have been a Platinum member for a while. Have also held the gold in the past.

With a new price increase coming, I'm giving the green card a serious look. 3x travel on everything including cruises, hotels, etc. seems like easy one stop shopping... 3x dining is also good.

sam's card for the gas and groceries.

If we weren't a disney family I would put all my spend on WOH credit card.

Yes it certainly makes sense. You had just mentioned no AF but really it does have a hidden AF but with as much as people utilize costco it is a mute point.

Does Sam's get extra for groceries? I just use mine for Gas and non GC Spend at Sam's unless I'm getting 5% on another card that quarter.

No, but we buy our groceries pretty much exclusively at Sams.

We have the 6% amex grocery cash card, though I don't plan to renew it. It does "pay for itself" particularly after the eSPN+ credit, but it is a bit of a hassle to have to remember one more card with one more billing cycle, etc. especially when the platinum digital entertainment credit keeps getting fewer options.

I haven’t kept up with the card. It used to offer 3% on dining and travel and Sam’s had a travel portal as well. I remember years ago being able to book excursions on it as well.

I am going out on a high note. I'm currently sitting in a room at the Fairmont in Boston. This is an Edit with a two cent redemption, for a shade over 50K points: Two nights in an upgraded room. There was a small charcuterie tray waiting for me in the room when I checked in. I'll have breakfast covered both days, my lobster roll and mocktail were covered, and I have a few bucks leftover to get a coffee after I get back from the Red Sox game later tonight.

I am not mad about this. I'm burning another chunk on luxury rental for a week in San Diego (either an Audi or a BMW-3), and have one other chunk that has to be used up before my anniversary date rolls around.

Lufthansa is my nightmare airline and Frankfurt Airport is my nightmare airport.

Good ol' Lufthansa lost my luggage.. twice. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me 😂

I downgraded ours last year to the no AF. It still gets the $7 Disney/Hulu credit and that's all I charge to it. It sits in a drawer.

Anyone visited all the CS airport lounges? Which one is your favorite? I was hoping the Vegas one would be opened by now so I can try it later this month when I'm there, but guess not and they don't even have a opening date announced yet. My husband tried the one at JFK and he said it's nice but too small.
We had one here in Austin but the hours weren't great and it had a small inside area and a huge outdoor patio. I'd rather sit by the gate than roast in the Texas sun. We have tried a few times at others but they were usually full with 30+ min wait.

officially announced and detailed now

Still mixed on it personally, higher fee, but more credits to try and earn. But the 3x travel seems to be gone on DVC contracts and Dues so that specifically is a downgrade. Hopefully someone can see if the 4x points directly with hotels works with putting stuff on your Disney room as that would still be good.

For 2 years they will give you the better of the 2 deals on redemptions (the old 1.5x on anything or the new 2x on select things) If the 2x isn't on very many things or airlines I use I can see myself letting this card go after using up my points or after October 2027 when the 1.5x is gone for current members
My renewal date is October of 2025 so I'll get all the new credits on the old annual fee for about a year. After that, I'm dropping it for sure.

It's not a bad "I'm desperate for GCs" card either if your grocery store sells gift cards that code at 6%. Beats out the Target Red Card deal.

Wells Fargo Autograph still has 3% on DVC, Streaming services, cellular, and travel. No annual fee. PenFed 2% cash back no annual fee for the rest. A few clicks and the cash is in my bank. I no longer do points or coupons or yearly fees, The constant degrading of point value from Marriott was my exit point from the points world.
