Chase getting rid of Disney debit card

I haven't received mine yet, what is the date that you will stop earning rewards and when is the last date you can redeem them? Thanks!

Intriguing, since they told me (while reading from their official info that they had) that the letters had gone out in February.....



When I called, the rep said (reading from the info she had) that we would earn until July 15th.

July 22nd but if credit isn't in by then, you won't get it. So if you buy on the 20th and they don't 'credit' until the 23rd then you are out of luck.

Also points/rewards are not going to expire.

They are full of it. I've only just gotten the letters. Another one came yesterday and one more today. That covers all 4 debit cards we have with them.

Oh I know they are full of it. Re-reading what I wrote, I see it might have been taken as sarcastic against my fellow Dis-ers. It was not meant to be like that; it was meant to be rude towards Chase.

I went there today and re-asked/semi-complained, and the lady just sort of vaguely "hmm"d when I said that no letters had made their way to us yet.


She also said it was b/c of the new laws and limits on how much can be charged with debit cards blah blah blah. Whatever. They knew these changes were coming for at least 2 years (everyone else has) and this debit card hasn't even been out for 2 full years at this point (I got ours almost at the beginning and our join date for it was August '09) so either they are VERY unintelligent, or they are lying to us.


The lady today said that we can keep our cards and still use them even after the program ends, but I don't know about that...even if it works that way for now, once this card expires I won't have a cute Disney card, so it's still only temporary.

For example, I was working my way to pay my deposit for our upcoming trip in 2012. If I have to redeem my rewards in July, will those rewards still be available to me on a card until I book our trip in 2012??? I am not going to book my trip until the 2012 window opens up. If I have a reward card sitting here collecting dust, will it expire after a certain amount of time.

I think the rumor floating around is that the rewards expire in Oct.

I received my letter today, as well. I guess I'll cash out my rewards sometime after the program ends on July 12th, and use the rewards during my October trip to WDW.

As far as the reward dollars expiring, there was nothing specific in the letter about that...just that the dollars have to be transferred to a redemption card by October 31, 2011. I know that last year I requested my rewards card in July (2010) and it was good until December, 2011, so I would think that you'd have at least 12 months to use the funds.

Assuming you get the same rewards card as the Disney Visa credit card the rewards card expire December of the year following you reciving it. Cards recieved in 2011 will expire December 2012.

Got my letter today. The points just have to be redeemed by October. Your redemption card won't expire in October.

While the CC may be better, I did enjoy my Disney debit card. I have racked up quite a few reward dollars that I'm putting towards our next big family trip. Its also nice to get the discount on purchases with it when we go on weekends. Apparently that ends in October too though. Will have to stick to getting the AP discount.

I'm just glad it worked out that our next trip is in September.

I received a letter yesterday from Chase bank stating we are no longer able to earn Disney Dream Reward Dollars when I use the Visa debit card after July 12, 11. Also after Oct 31, 2011, we are no longer able to use our card for the disney perks of the Disney Rewards Program. The only reason I opened this account was to use the card to earn the Disney reward Dollars. I have had the account for a year so I dont think being grandfathered in doesnt matter.

per the letter I received yesterday, if you paid your $25 annual fee they will prorate the refund for you.
