I just tore up the $300 offer and tossed it in the trash. It was 30,000 points after first purchase for my offer, with no minimum spending, with the ongoing rewards at 5%, on down depending on category for the time of month. The 30k points could be turned to cash, or whatever. The interest rate offered was 17.99 per cent.
Yiii! To me that is unbelieveable! Even with paying the balance each month, I wouldn't bite that hook!! No way!
Credit cards are great tools, but just having that card or any with a high rate such as that is to me, a liability.
I have several cards - all with rates under 10%. If I were to have to carry a balance I would cringe at paying that much (10%).
