Chase Disney Visa - Should I pull the trigger?

We accepted this offer and got our card, and made the required purchase. Still wondering if we will get an actual gift card. Also, when you "activate" it is that first purchase with the card, or is that the date you order the gift card?

So, was it an actual gift card or reward points on the card?
I've seen some offers that say a statement credit(which I'm assuming is the reward points), but my offer says that I will receive a gift card after my first purchase with the visa.
If its reward points, can that be used towards a payment on my trip, I guess. I rarely use credit cards and have never had one with reward points.

Mine was an actual gift card; DH got the points - which I then used to buy a $200 gift card.

I would imagine you could use the rewards points towards a payment on the trip - provided you book the trip with that Visa.

Statement Credits are actual cash statement credits, not Reward Dollars.

So there are 3 different types of rewards ... gift cards, rewards dollars, and statement credits.

You do not need to book the trip with that Visa. Reward points can be used in conjunction with any other form of payment.

Not really sure what you are asking, but maybe the answer you are looking for is ... gift cards don't expire.

If you are talking about Disney reward dollars redemption cards, they expire 12-23 months after receiving the redemption card.

You don't actually get a gift card but rather 200 reward dollars on your account that can be redeemed for a $200 gift card.

As stated in several posts, if the offer says Gift Card, you get a Gift Card, not 200 reward dollars.

I just wonder how the $200 offer is mailed. How did they get your address? Would love $200 and no annual fee, but would settle with an annual fee.

I just got the offer in the mail today for the $200.00 gift card after first purchase with no annual fee. I'm not a huge fan of credit cards, but I figure the gift card alone is worth it since we have an upcoming Disney trip.
Does anyone know if the gift card has an expiration date? We won't be going to Disney until June 2013 and I would like to use the gift card for souvenir money.
If it does have an expiration date, could the gift card be used towards a payment on our reservation.
No, the gift card does not have an expiration date...not sure if you can use it towards payment of your reservation.

You don't actually get a gift card but rather 200 reward dollars on your account that can be redeemed for a $200 gift card. The points eventually expire (but it is YEARS). When you order that gift card, it has about an 18 month expiration date. All that to say, you'll be fine for a June 2013 trip. :)
Not true! My offer was for a $200 gift card after I made any single purchase and that is what I received a $200 gift card...Not a credit on my statement, not reward dollars...but a $200 gift card in the mail, it arrived about 2 weeks after I made my purchase. Apparently, the computer system knew to automatically send it once it saw my first charge go thru. :thumbsup2

If your offer says a gift card then that is what you will receive. The computer system is set up to know to send one once your first charge is approved and goes thru. It takes about 2 weeks to receive. They will tell you to allow a bit longer but that seems to be about the amount of time it actually takes to arrive. :cool1:

They have your address on file already because they are going to mail you statements! You've been approved and all. You have to make a single charge before you get your gift card and then it will automatically be sent to you. You don't need to call them (like I did! :rolleyes1) they know that you met the requirements and they will send the gift card on its way. It will go to the address that the bill goes to, the one that you gave them when you applied, the one the mailed the actual plastic card to...make sense? :goodvibes

I believe if you request the Vacation Planning DVD from Disney, then Chase will send you the Disney Visa $200 GC offer. At least that is what I did and that is what others have said. You can request the DVD on this page: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/

From what I've read here, it takes about 2 weeks to get the gift card once you have made your purchase agreement, is that what others have experienced?
Also, how long did it take to get the actual credit card in the mail once you signed up(we did it online after receiving the offer by mail)? Thanks!

I'm wondering how long credit card take to ship also. CM said 10 days I thin but that seems stretched to me. On day 3 biz days 5 days total. Really crossing my fingers it's before Sunday!! When my husband signed up he asked if he got the $200 gift card when booking ad was told yes. Even after the mailed offer had expired. Thinking its worth a phone call and you'll get it too.

I just got this offer and was wondering how long it took to get your actual card in the mail. We leave in 13 days!!!

Congrats on your Disney Visa card. Remember that Disney visa cardholders can get one free 5 x 7 picture a day at Epcot, there is a special area in Innovations where you show your card and get pictures with the characters. You can pick one pose that they will print for free.

If you have photo plus, will they put them on your card?
