I was recently approved for a Chase Disney Visa card so I can take advantage of the 6 mo. interest free promotion for my Disney vacation package. Plus to take advantage of the Disney rewards for using your Disney Visa card.

Now I read there is a $100 Chase Checking Account promotion - open a new Chase checking account and set up direct deposit (or use your debit card X times) and they will give you a bonus of $100.

Can I arrange to get a Disney Chase Debit Card to go along with this new Chase checking account, so that I can earn Disney debit card rewards, too?

This might be the best of all worlds .... I may call Chase tomorrow to see I can accomplish this goal! This would certainly help pay for my upcoming solo trip! :wizard:

Yes you can. I did this recently. Besides the $100 for the checking account I also got $25 in Disney Rewards when I started using the card.

Do you have the link for this, I can't find this offer only expired ones.

TIA,
Kim

Also would like the link to this promo....

1) Got the same mailer offer.
2) Even though we have a Disney VISA.
3) But, it wasn't worth changing all the banking.

but now I can't find it...

I searched on Google and found it... expires 9/30/10. :thumbsup2

Wonder if I can get my husband to open an account too?

Actually I'm going to change banks that I use just for my monthly mortgage payment. My existing bank, although close to my home, is not convenient since I work 23 miles away. The Chase bank is about 2 blocks from my work and if I can tie a Disney reward debit card to this account to earn points/Disney gift cards, I'm all for that!

yes, this can be done very easily. the one thing to remember is the Disney Debit has a $25 year service fee - but I figured the first year's fee was covered by the money they gave me for transferring. One nice thing is that the debit card gives partial reward dollars (I got 2.7 on my last statement)! It helps make up for the fact that you have to spend $200 to get a reward dollar on the debit card.

Yep.

If you have the CC, since the debit card has to be used like a CC (if you use your PIN you do NOT get rewards), I think you would just want to use the CC for those payments. The 5 payments to make won't make up for the $25, and you'd be shortchanging yourself rewards by using the debit card instead of the CC.

There is no law that says you can't have 2 checking accounts! :rotfl: I took advantage of a chase $100 offer a few months ago. I didn't change any of my banking. I just direct a very very small amount of my paycheck to the new chase account which satisfies the 2 direct deposits a month so I am not charged any fees. I'll wait out the 6 months or whatever the time requirement it and then close the account.
