So many changing/drop in perks for on-site hotels… Has anyone made a chart comparing the perks for Deluxe vs Mod/Value vs “Official Hotel” vs Good Neighbor vs Swan/Dolph vs DVC vs non-affiliated hotel?

—-Early entry: Yes for all On-site hotels & Swan/Dolphin & Official. Good Neighbor…No
—-After-hours extension: only Deluxe guests &Swan/Dolph guests. Only MK & Epcot, only 1 nt/wk for each, and reduced # of rides?
—-Merchandise delivery: currently suspended. (formerly Yes for On-site guests & Swan/Dolph, No for Good Neighbor/Official.)
—-For dining reservations, 60 days pre-arrival. (On-site guests can reserve 10 days beyond arrival.)
—-Free Food: Nowhere on-site except: “club-level” Deluxe gives breakfast plus evening snacks. 22 of 44 Good Neighbor give free breakfast… and a small few give lite dinner w/ alcohol. No free food at “Official”.
—-Food paid in advance: Dining Plan suspended. (previously avail to On-Site guests.)
—-Parking: Free for DVC renters. EVERYONE else with a car pays WDW parking, either at the Disney hotel or at the park. (Value=$15, Mod=20, Delux=$25, Swan/Dolph $35, theme park=$25 to $50). So no real cost savings on-site vs off. On-site/Swan/Dolph who already paid hotel parking get themepark parking free, thus no double-charge. 70% of Good Neighbor hotels have free parking (but transport to WDW may/may not be free).
—-Microwaves: Value resorts= only in Family suites. Mod = only the Cabins. Deluxe = No, except DVC = yes. Swan/Dolph = only in suites, not in standard rooms. Good Neighbor hotels = 22 of 44 do have. Unsure about Official.
—-Purchase Genie+ ahead of time: suspended.
—-MagicBands: not free for anyone anymore. On-siters can buy in-advance at discount. Good Neighbor/Swan/Dolphin/Official = full price.
—-Early ride-booking: All guests can buy Genie+ at midnight day-of, and can book Genie+ rides at 7am.
—-Early $ILL purchase: On-siters/Swan/Dolph get the ability to buy 1 $ILL at 7am — or 2 if hopping — while Official/Good Neighbors/non-affil must wait until park opens.
Resort fees (a non-perk)… common at Swan/Dolph, the Officials, and some GN. None at On-sites.

I would love to see these results in chart form, with rows of perks& columns of hotel categories, and simple X’s in the boxes. (Maybe footnotes when needed), and attached as as a sticky at the top of this chatboard. Is there someone here that can do that?

There are so many old DIS posts and websites with outdated info re: Fast-pass, Good Neighbor, costs etc that I felt compelled to write this.

rides?
—-Merchandise delivery: Yes for On-site guests & Swan/Dolph, No for Good Neighbor/Official.
—-For dining reservations, 60 days pre-arrival, no hotel advantages.

I don’t think package delivery to resorts has returned.

On site guests can book ADRs for 60+10, same as it’s been for many years.

—-Early ride-booking: On-siters/Swan/Dolph get the ability to book Genie+ rides & $ILL at 7am, while Official/Good Neighbors/non-affil must wait until park opens.
—-$ILL used to be 2 per park per day (max 2), then decreased to 1 per park per day (max 2) UNTIL Aug.7, 2022. But now that we’re past Aug.7, it’s still only 1 $ILL per park? Does that differ for on-siters?

If I remember right, everyone can book Genie+ @ 7am. Offsite has to wait for park opening to book ILL rides. Yes, there is only 1 ILL ride per park right now. Each person can only book each ride once per day, only 2 ILL per day total.

—-Parking: EVERYONE with a car pays WDW parking now, either at the Disney hotel or at the park. (Value=$15, Mod=20, Delux=$25, Swan/Dolph $35, theme park=$25 to $50). So no real cost savings on-site vs off. On-site/Swan/Dolph who already paid hotel parking get themepark parking free, thus no double-charge. 70% of Good Neighbor hotels have free parking, but transport to WDW may/may not be free.

APs do not pay for theme park parking, but they do pay if staying at a resort. DVC members do not pay for resort parking or in theme park during a resort stay. This might only apply if they are staying on points. Valet parking is free if you have a handicap tag.

Two adjustments, I think...
I wasn't aware that merch delivery had returned.
DVC people staying on points (or even renting points from a member) get free parking
(LOL looks like I was too slow with the typing)

—-Free Food: Some food is free at Good Neighbor and for club-level Deluxe.

Just to clarify.. Club level floors have a lounge which has food at specific times. There‘s plenty for breakfast & a decent amount of appetizers between 5 & 7 pm. But they do not get meals in the parks or at restaurants.

—-Microwaves: Value resorts= only in Family suites. Mod = only the Cabins. Deluxe = many do. Swan/Dolph = only in suites, not in Standard rooms. Good Neighbor hotels = 22 of 44 do have. Unsure about Official.

Are you saying many deluxe rooms have microwaves? Coz no, they do not, except DVC rooms.

What you found us significant!
BUT please note: the hotels listed in your link are NOT Good Neighbor hotels…. Instead they are called “Official WDW” hotels.

This is why we need someone to make the chart.
Gotcha. I had that mixed up.not familiar with the good neighbor hotels . Just the others .

Great catch! I was unaware of that important revelation.

It means the ONLY benefit unique to on-site hotels (right now) is the ability to buy 1 $ILL daily (or 2 if hopping) at 7am — instead of waiting until park opening like all other guests..[/B]

Thanks to you, I’ve corrected the mistake in the original post so future readers will see correct info.

Thanks for the insight about club-level… hope to see that someday!
A Disney website stated that all Deluxe Villas have microwaves. That’s why I mentioned some Deluxes have micros.

But based on your reply, I web-surfed & discovered that Deluxe Villas are another name for DVC. So my dream-chart will need another hotel category for DVC.

Good catch!

(FYI I would love to stay at DVC but the cost is too convoluted for me or the average park guest. Us “confused” people need a simple perks chart & actual prices. I’ve added your food tips & DVC category & microwave correction to my 1st post.)

OP may as well remove GOOD NEIGHBOR hotels from a chart comparing DISNEY PERKS. They don't get any. They get put on the list because they offer a checklist of items, none are a DISNEY PERK.

Things like:
They are AAA approved.
They will offer transportation even if it's paid or just once a day.
They offer option to purchase tickets through them.
They are closer than 14 miles.

Many of the things they provide are also provided by non-Good Neighbor hotels. It really doesn't mean anything and guests should do their own research if staying offsite. Some non-Good Neighbor offer much better services.

I know what you mean, no corporate-granted perks at Good Neighbor.

But Good Neighbor do have some unofficial perks that have MONETARY value. The chart would show perks that have value to people, not just Disney sales pitches. I’m frustrated because hidden monetary values are so difficult for parents with kids to FIND online. Why can’t we just have a chart that shows an honest comparison?

Good Neighbor hotels:
22 of the 44 give free breakfasts.
3 give free lite dinners w/ alcohol, sometimes.
31 of the 44 GN have free hotel parking (not themepark).
Many have microwaves.
All have transport to parks (some free, some not)

(GN is a category Disney touts, so I wanted that category to be included in the comparison chart. But… to seriously compare the GN hotels against each other individually would be a whole 2nd chart— and way too much work!)

So go for it, make your chart. I don’t know that there’s that much of a demand for it. But if you want to see it, have at it.

Edit to add: you might want to check the Orlando area Hotels & Attractions forum. There might be more of the info you’re looking for there.

The reason I posted all the info here for others is because I don’t really have the tech skill to make a presentable chart, myself. Do you seriously believe that potential visitors would rather hassle through multiple days of web-surfing and gargantuans of outdated info just to figure out the differences between lodging options?

Such a chart only has value if it's actively maintained (updated).

I think a chart of off-site hotels, including GN would have more value.
Parking fee, resort fee, hot breakfast, continental breakfast, rate bus service, walking distance to Lynx...

Wow! This is helpful information, spreadsheet or not! Thank you for spending time on this!

I don’t think most people on the Disney resorts forum are comparing perks of various off site hotels. Most people pick off site based on price. That’s why I suggested the Orlando hotels forum. People who stay offsite are more likely to post there. There are other websites, including the Disney World site that give pretty basic info already, without doing too much work. And maybe start there, with the basics, like Disney Deluxe resorts & Disney Vacation Club Villas are different categories & hotels.

I agree but the problem is too many on this board are constantly confusing that Good Neighbor actually receives Disney perks that they do not. They don't have a place on the Disney Resorts forum.

In order to compare apples to apples you'd have to do one chart for Disney Hotels and the few that are affiliated with and share in some perks ... on Disney Resorts subforum. Then you would need another chart on the Orlando Hotels subforum that would show what surrounding area hotels offer and note if they are GN or not. There are many hotels not GN that offer the same or better amenities, it wouldn't make sense to ignore them if folks are looking for best option. And at that point the numbers become unmanageable.

Such a chart only has value if it's actively maintained (updated).

Exactly. I think similar was attempted YEARS ago on the Orlando Hotels forum. It would take a big commitment and it would be difficult to keep floating to top since I don't think there is a moderator there or any real organization.

Agreed.

If you are staying onsite you pretty much know what you will get. Nothing to really compare there.

If you are looking to stay offsite it might have value if you are comparing what you get at various places if you are looking at lots of options. But again, it would take constant work especially since many services are being returned now.

I don’t believe you are correct with this statement with anyone but yourself. Sorry of the same for the entire chart. For the average guest, no. DVC is not too convoluted for the average park guest. Most all the sites that rent points have charts that make it easy to figure out. Nor do I think the average guest is looking for all this on a single chart. But go for making one

Something must’ve got lost in translation, to warrant this much chart-animosity, LOL.

But anyway, from the gathered data I was able to scrawl out a rough chart & visibly see which classifications of hotel would offer the perks I wanted. I narrowed those down to 1 class best for me, then I picked a hotel in that class, and booked. FOR FREE as it turns out, for 3 nights. (But had to pay tax/fees of $120)

And to top it off, I got an extra perk I wasn’t shooting for, the Extended Evening option. And will be lodging smack-dab in the middle of WDW. I’m very appreciate of the tips given to me earlier in this thread, that got me to this point of paying $120 for Disney Dolphin INSTEAD of the $1200 (after Dis Visa discount) I’d been ready to spend at Caribbean Beach Resort.
!!!

To people blessed with good reading comprehension & retention, maybe charts are worth $0 to them. To me, it turned out to be worth a 90% discount.
