This is the first time that we have ever had a lay over in Charlotte on our way to Disney. We have always flown through Philly.

Anything I need to know about Charlotte? We will be on a USAir puddle jumper to get there and then hopping on a big plane. Are we going to have to take a shuttle to get to the other end of the airport like we do in Philly?

Is this a nice airport? I just hope that we don't have the problems there coming home like we always have in Philly. No matter what time it is when we are supposed to leave Philly there is always a problem finding a flight crew to take us home.

Any information would be helpful.

Thanks!

Charlotte is a lot easier to negotiate than Philadelphia, which is among the worse airports to negotiate IMHO.

Charlotte International Airport, is very nice, and it is also very easy to get around in, you will be able to walk anywhere you want within a reasonable amount of time. This airport is not as spread out as philly ( which I think is a nightmare ). You will not have a problem here at all. Pretty nice shops and plenty of food. I would just check in at my gate first before shopping, they will let you know how much time you have. Very layed back airport.Have a fun trip.

If you are coming in express you may have a lot of walking to do at Charlotte. It is a very nice airport. Be sure to enjoy the rocking chairs in the middle of the airport, also the great piano player.

If you are arriving via Express, you will likely land at E Concourse. Larger US Air planes fly out of B or C Concourse, which can be a little walk. There are moving walkways which make it easier. The airport is relatively new (since being renovated) and has a food court, restaurants and shopping like most other airports.

Oh great all these great things said about Charlotte and I have to be the downer :sad2:
If you get stuck there (flights delayed/cancelled) there isn't much flying in/out of there besides USAir.... at least that's the way it was back in 2002 (I think) when we got stuck there for like 4 or 5 hours... (you guessed it... flight was late getting there from Philly ;) ) ended up taking like 9 or 10 hours to fly from Buffalo to Orlando which direct would be 2 and a half hours (Yay SW)....

good luck... have fun....

Thanks,
Paul

Actually, that's the case with other airports, as well. For example, Memphis and Minneapolis are basically only supported by Northwest.
