Not to be confused with Charlie's Steakhouse.

My family and I just got back from our Disney trip (3/1 - 3/8). One night we decided we wanted to go someplace nice, but not on the Disney property. We decided on Charlies Lobster House in the Mercado on I-Drive, on the recommendation of my wife and I because we had a great dinner there 3 years ago.

Well, needless to say we were VERY disappointed this time. We all had the lobster and it was horrible! Stringy, chewy, couldn't even cut it with a knife, and didn't even taste good. There were 8 of us in the party and we all had the lobster and all said the same thing.

Our waitress almost seemed bothered with having to come over and wait on us. My wife and I asked if they had the wonderful oyster stew that we had there the last time we visited. They no longer offered that, which was fine. But then the waitress told us to order oyster stuffed mushrooms which was supposedly like the stew, NOT! Neither of us cared for them and couldn't understand why she led us to believe that they were different from what they were. We just chalked that one up to us being dumb at the moment and realizing that she didn't know what she was talking about.

At the end of the meal, my father-in-law and uncle-in-law asked to talk with the manager because they were so upset with the food and service. The manager blew us off! He says "I guess I'll talk to the chef about it". That's going to make us happy? No appology, no coupon to come back (like we would have), no nothing to make up for what we felt like was a big loss. Every check from the four families that went was over $100.

I would never, ever recommend anyone dine there if they want to get their money's worth.

Thanks for letting me vent.

Sorry to hear you had such a dissapointment on your vacation.

As a server I know that yours should have offered you something else if you were not satisfied, especially with a party that large.

The mgr's response was totally unprofessional as well. If you did not wish to get another entree to replace it, then I think they should have comped at least your individual meals (not necessarily drinks or apps, etc.) and assured that 8 people just might come back due to their willingness to do what's right and keep the customers satisfied. Word of mouth is always important to a restaurants reputation.
