Charley's Steakhouse

We stayed one night at the Ramada Celebration (positive review posted on the Review thread) and ate at Charley's Steakhouse.

This is a pricey restaurant, but we decided to splurge and discovered the Talk of the Town Management group is offering a fixed price meal for 2 at $69. The Restaurants include Charley's, Bonefish, Moonfish, and Vito's. You get an appetizer, salad, bread, entree, and dessert sampler for 2. When we saw the 28 oz NY Strip, we thought we would be sharing it -- not so. We each got a 28 oz steak! All of the food was amazing and portions so large it fed us for several days. The appetizer was an excellent calamari, salad very fresh, bread wonderful, entree served with choice of potato or rice, asparagus, and the dessert sampler included a lushious chocolate cake, slice of key lime pie, and cheesecake. We found the meat to be very flavorful and cooked exactly as we requested.

I would definitely do this again -- but one of us would order steak, and the other the double pork chops. The wait staff readily bagged our extra food, and we walked out with three food containers, and one dessert box! One of the managers also spoke to us about our dining experience and did say that many people split entrees at Charley's.

My Dad is a big fan or Charley's as well.One night he brought me back a dessert after he had dinner there with one of his friends.It was huge.It was the night before we had to go back home and there was no way I was going to be able to finish it.I had it for dessert the first night and breakfast the next morning and sadly I think I still had to throw some away.I sure wished that I had someone to share it with.

We have only been to Charley's once, but we loved it!! Definitely would like to go back but now that we have been to Del Friscos, we tend to go there instead.

THE two best steakhouses in Orlando. Can't go wrong at either (there are 2 or 3 Charley's - only one Del Friscos). Love them all.

Agree with you there!! We live closer to Del Friscos so that usually wins out!

Which location did you go to? I've found the original Charley's by the Florida Mall is far better than the other locations, but I may have to give the others a try since it sounds like they may have improved...

We've been to 2 Charley's - the one on International Drive and the one on 192. I preferred the 192 one (but it was the first one we ever ate at so maybe that is coloring the opinion). I do think the building is nicer at the 192 location but that shouldn't impact the food.

I was at the Ramada Celebration just last week for a couple of days..it wasn't too bad.
I love Charley's, too! and drove by (many times) the one you are speaking of. I was so tempted to stop in for dinner but we have one here in Tampa that we frequent. I'm not sure if their menus are the same but we always split their "fabulous filet". It's 20 oz. and it is most definitely fabulous but it is $60.00 so you got quite a deal for quality food!

thematson: They're calling it the "Summer of 69" so I'm guessing through August. You could probably phone and verify how long it'll last.
