Charging to Resort

Can you charge meals back to your resort account? I'm thinking restaurants at Disney Springs, like Homecomin. What about Gideons? I've collected a few Disney gift cards lately and I need to use them as best I can.

In the parks and resorts, yes you can. I don't think you can in Disney Springs, but I'm not sure.

A good rule of thumb is that if you can book a restaurant on MDE, then you can pay with your MB. I’ve never personally bought Gideons, only had them when SIL bought them, so I’m not sure about that, but I did buy chocolates at The Ganachery on MB. I’m also pretty sure I paid at Chicken Guy on MB but not 100%.

You cannot room charge at Gideons.

As for Disney Springs generally, I have found more places than not will allow room charges. @SkyGuy suggestion of a restaurant being available on MDE is good way to determine without asking in advance. I have also room charged at some retail outlets there (like The Gnachery and the Disney owned stores)

As I recall most places at Disney Springs will let you do a room charge, including the gift shops. On the other hand, you can't do a resort room charge at Swan/Dolphin restaurants, as I learned the hard way a few years ago and had to run back to my room at Boardwalk to get my wallet.

You CAN room charge at Gideons, we've been doing it since they opened. Most food locations, even those not owned by Disney, will let you charge back to your room. Some of the non Disney merch locations allow it, too.

You can also just pay with your Disney gift cards anywhere you could charge back to the resort. Save a step in the process of going to the resort desk to pay off the room charges with the GC..
