Charging to a FairFX card

Hello,

I'm sure it has been asked before we are thinking of taking a FairFX card with us this year.

When they ask you if you want to set up a Credit Card to the room so you can charge things using your Key to the Kingdom can we use a FairFX card?

i wouldnt we always pout cash down

the reason we dont use our fairfx card is that it will take the amount and put it in a pending state so you wont be able to use that money till disney release the charge on it

I have fairfx card and I think it is brilliant...

I used it in New York and I cannot think if it charge me but only thing if you use it in cash machine that will be charge you that is all...

I am happy with fairfx card...

As orangetiggs says I wouldn't as it could hold the amount. Use a normal credit, but then you can pay it off with Fairfx when you want to.

yes another thing I thought it was great that I know when I change the money to dollars and pay it off to Disney cruise that is help also if I pay off with visa or credit card as I don't know what they charge me so I think fairfx is excellent...

Can i ask a quick question? As i am thinking of getting one, when i usually buy my dollars i can buy a buy back rate for when i return, can i do this with Fairfx also is it easy to transfer money back when we back from hol

You can just go to a UK cash machine and draw it out in £'s minus the charge (is it still $2?) but I always leave mine on as I know we will go back sometime in the future. We also did what someone suggested, gave our nationwide credit card for room key charging but went and paid the bill the night before leaving by Fairfx card, it worked at both HRH and AKL but when it came to checking out at the Poly (the last of our 3 hotel stops) it was declined. I knew I had enough funds on so they kept trying it till it worked. Felt rather embarrassed at first insisting it was OK as they must have thought 'heard that one before' but it really was

So I can just use a normal Bank card but they wont charge that one and then when we check out they can charge the amount to our fairFX card

Just wondering because we are on the DDP last year we wished we did it because when they take for the how ever many credits and then just charge tip drink etc to the room much easier then worrying about not having enough cash

I'm not sure a debit card would be accepted by Disney, possibly if it was a Visa type but I doubt Maestro.

Visa and Mastercard. I had to phone them a few months ago and asked and they told me it is Visa or Mastercard. Whether it is debit or credit is insignificant though.

I can tell you now that Disney hotels do not take any money from the card you give them for credit so that you can use your park card to buy items whilst on holiday. The only time they will is when you leave or if you reach the limit set before you leave.

We have said twice at AKL and twice at GF and never had any money held. I think they make sure it is ok though and maybe take 1 dollar

I have used the fairfx card several times for this and pay my bill the night before I leave with it.

I will be doing the same again this September
