Normally, the CM doesn't even ask, since most choose to not give their kids charging privelages. But any room key can be linked to the credit card on file for charging purposes. As far as individual limits, I don't think that can be done. Every room key shares the total limit for the room.
To pile onto the gift card theme, you can even add a second card for room charges. Make that the gift card, and link your children's room keys to the gift card.
You can find the balance of room charges at any time by visiting the resort front desk.
Thank you for the replies. The kids are 15 and 12 and have their own money saved but I don't want them to carry cash. On the Disney cruise we could put a limit on their cards and also go on your room TV and check each person's balance. (Each card had it's own code so you knew what everyone was charging.) That would be especially nice if they can't put limits on the cards.
They are very trustworthy but it's easy to forget how much you've spent already and overspend! (Just ask me!!) The gift card idea sounds good...you mean we can buy a gift card and make it a park pass/room key?? Did I understand the last post correctly?
Sorry, that didn't come out right. When you check in, you are issued 'Key to the World' cards (KTTW). These can be set with charging privelages, which is then charged at checkout, to the credit card Disney has on file. You can place more than one credit card on file when you check in (similar to a split party), with each KTTW being assigned to one of the two cc's you have registered. Since a VISA gift card (as an example) is essentially a prepaid credit card, you place this on file when you check in. Then, you assign the kids' KTTW cards to the gift card on file.
Maybe it'll just be simpler to hand them each a gift card. If they have a separate gc, then let them know at check in to disable charging privelages on their KTTW card.
