Charging if you cancel

If I cancel a reservation the night before will I be charged I have never been before in the past just making sure this has not changed I like to sometimes move reservations around as I stalk the site to see if anything better becomes available.

I’ve never, ever been charged the cancellation fee despite sometimes only cancelling three hours or so before the reservation time.

If you cancel before midnight the day before your reservation you shouldn't be charged a no-show fee. When I asked about this somebody suggested taking a screen cap after you cancel and saving it until you get your email notification. Just in case.
