Charging cell phones in the parks?

A full day in the parks kills my phone battery. I know I've heard people talk about places in the parks where it was possible to charge cell phones, but where?

I have this thing called an iGo for my Droid that you charge on USB and then carry it with you in your purse/bag. If you need to recharge your phone, you just plug it in and it holds a full charge (sometimes plus). I keep it in my purse fully charged all the time because you never know. Then if you need a charge, you aren't tied to an outlet for an hour. I got mine from Verizon when I got my last phone but I'm sure you can get them all over.

Upstairs at the Golden Horseshoe. Best secret in Disneyland. There are also supposed to be charging stations (for pay) by the lockers although I haven't seen them yet.

True about disconnecting, but they may be using their phones to take pictures. ;) Ever since I got my phone that has a separate memory card for photos and videos (thereby vastly improving the quality of my cell phone pics), I use my phone whenever I don't want to waste valuable purse space on a camera.

I own a business. Having a charged cell phone allows me to take long weekends at Disneyland, while maintaining a working ability on Fridays.

That said, I use the iGo also. It will recharge my iPhone 2x on one charge.

I saw someone charging his phone in Miss Chris' Cabin, back in the Ranch area of DL.

Downstairs at Hungry Bear, there is an outlet by the phones. There is an outlet by the lockers by the pay phones there. Their are special lockers for charging also. But for me, the easiest was the iGo. That way I don't have to sit at Hungry Bear for an hour while it charges.

I bought extra batteries for our phones and pop in a freshly charged one when the other is dead.

Kind of presumptuous. People use their phones for more than just txting and talking to people.

There are outlets throughout the park, if you look for them. Now that said most will require you to just stand around wasting park time while your phone charges.

There are also lockers on Main Street and Buena Vista Street that have phone chargers built in, I believe they are $5 on hour though.

That was...unhelpful.

We're in the parks once a week or so. Life doesn't stop because we're at Disneyland.

Thanks for all of the tips! I think we're going to look into the iGo. It seems like a good investment!

Here's what DH & I do with our phones at DLR:

take photos & videos
post on Facebook so FB friends can see how much fun we're having :goodvibes
check Pin Pics website to see if we already own pins, when buying and trading
check Ebay to see what pins go for, if there's something we can't find or trade for
check my work email and social media at least once a day (me), because it's part of my job
take phone calls from clients (DH) when necessary
check sports scores - especially DH when there's a Dodger game

Taking photos alone can run my battery down to 40% after a few hours. All the other stuff will run a battery down even more. It's my reality. But a $4 battery can fix that.

I saw an outlet over in Bugs Land in DCA. It was in the bathroom area on the lower portion of a wall in a walkway. It would be an odd place to charge a phone as the phone would need to rest on the floor and it's in a walkway (no real convenient place to sit & wait for it to charge). But in a pinch, it would work!

I have a paid app on my iPhone called Walkee. I mostly use it for ride wait times. But at the bottom, click on MouseConnect and scroll down to Charging Locations. There are several outlet locations listed in both DL and DCA. For instance, one listed says there are 2 located in the bushes to the right of the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters exit. I have not personally seen this particular one, but that is an example of the kinds of things listed. It also states that those listed are not dedicated charging stations, but just wall plugs and if you are unsure about using one, to please ask a CM.
