Charged my Visa for CRT even though I will be using DDP?

I just called to make a ressie for CRT in October and they said they would have to charge my visa 108.00 (for 2 adults and 1 child), not just use it to guarantee.

I told her I have the DDP.

How will this work against my TS credits??? Will I just have extra to use for meals when I'm down there? ( so I will be going 108.00 over my dining budget too)

Has anyone else experienced this?

I made ressies for CRT too. I gave them my package confirmation number and the took my credit card info too. I was told that they would not charge my credit card unless I was a no show. Thank you. I will now check on my charges too.:scared:

worst case, the restaurant should be able to give you a credit, but to my knowledge, you shouldn't have been charged. check with your bank and if you really have been charged, i'd call back if it's important to you.

Just call back the dine line and tell them that your card was charged and you are on the DDP, so it should of just been used for a guarantee, and they will refund the money right back to the card. Won't be a problem at all.

Maybe it's cheaper to pay out of pocket than to use 2 TS credits...LOL.

Thanks to all for responding. :)

I was told I wouldn't be charged, but i just looked at my statement this morning and there's a dining charge for $38.21...we added a person to our reservation and I'm guessing that's the charge for him?? The person on the phone specifically said I wouldn't be charged and it was just for guarantee, but apparently did it anyway. We will be paying out of pocket for it, but since we had the DDP, the person i made the original ressie with suggested just leaving it as on the dining plan till we got there so we wouldn't have to pay till then :).

We did CRT last month...I was not charged...just was told I would be if there was a no show. However, now I would not recommend the dinner seating:(

When I made my reservations for CRT they told me they were charging my visa but it would be refunded if we opted to use our dining credits. We are paying OOP for CRT so it does not matter in my case but I would assume you would get a credit on your card for that amount. At least that is what they told me.

Last fall we did CRT, on the DDP, and when we booked they told me they needed my Visa just to hold the ADR...if I didn't show...AT THAT TIME we would be charged. We had no problems...

Made ADR's two days ago for CRT and was told very clearly that my Visa would NOT BE CHARGED.

Have you called your CC company to check and see if the charge was made? I think your CM must have just not been very knowledgable.

When I made my reservation for CRT at my 180 day mark a few weeks ago, I was not on the DDP. My CC was charge the full price (108). I called them back when we added the DDP and the money was refunded to my CC the next day. Hope that helps!

Yesterday I looked at my CC online and there was a dining charge of $19?.00
and my $200.00 resort deposit. I called disney dining they said I should not have been charged for CRT since I had Disney Dining. They said the computer could not just refund my money and that I had two choices 1-they could cancel my ressie, which would refund the money to my CC and try to rebook quickly but they could not guarantee it would be available or 2-I could keep it on my card, keep the ressie and have them refund it to my CC at the time of the dinner. I really can't afford to just pay and wait 5 months to get it back but I don't want to lose this ressie they are so hard to come by and everyone is looking forward to eating in the Castle. I haven't decided what to do. It really makes me mad, its not my fault they screwed up and I did not give anyone permission to charge my CC and the CM who booked my dining also booked the package and she knew I had FDD. Any suggestions? Talking to a supervisor didn't get me anywhere.

well, if it is that important to you then I would just keep the ressie and find a way to pay for it. they can refund your money when you get there unless you decide then to pay OOP for it (worth it more that way than 2 DC) or risk losing your ressie. if you call and make a new ressie for same day (if possible)but your card may get charged again and you could be paying double. From what i understand it takes few weeks to get your money back sometimes and you may end up paying interest on it to boot!
