Charge to make change to reservation

Is there a charge to make a change to my reservation. I book a 5 day stay for 1 bedroom villa and now I was thinking about changing it to 4 day stay at 2 bedroom villa.

No there is no fee, you can modify your reservation (I've done it several times-as we get closer to our trip and book airfare).

As long as the days are available and you haven't hit 30 days out from your stay.

I think you are OK within 30 days as long as your new reservation uses the same or more points as the first reservation. (Which may be the case in the OP's instance 5 days in a 1BR vs 4 days in a 2BR)
If the change is within 30 days and the new reservation uses fewer points, those extra points become more restricted and time sensitive "holding points". There is still no additional cash fee for the change within DVC resorts.
