Hello,

I apologize if this is in the wrong section. I just noticed a $1600 charge from the Poly from our last day. I have absolutely no idea where this could be from. We never charged anything to the room. We went through a travel agent and this was a split stay. We had a package with tickets and room with CSR and the a room only with the Poly. I am beyond moritified and not sure who to contact about this. Do I call Disney direct?

Thanks!

Yes. I would. They will be able to clarify the situation. If that does not work contact the CC company a file a dispute.

Yikes! I don't think your travel agent would be able to do anything, since it's your credit card. But maybe he/she might be able to help? Was it an even amount like that - 1600? One time, at POR, they upgraded my room and tried to charge me the difference. But that was only about 400.00 or so. Let us know what happens. I arrive at the Poly in 10 days - I want to know if there is any funny business happening there!

My first call would be to the Poly front desk. If it was room charges they should be able to pull the info and tell you. If they don't know, then I'd try the central reservation number and ask for a supervisor to look at your account.

Unfortunately, you can't call the front desk of any resort. The numbers associated with each resort are routed to a call center. They answer as if they are at that particular resort, but it's actually a call center. I would try the central reservation number and ask to speak with a supervisor as he/she should be able to help or direct you to someone else. Good luck!

There is no calling the front desk, even when you are physically at disney. You get a call center.

You should have gotten an email invoice at the very least. Did you upgrade your room at the Poly or do anything else like that?

Just a thought, but did you pay the TA directly for the RO reservation? Most RO reservations are paid with a one-night deposit and then the balance is charged on check in. Could that be what happened?

You should have gotten an email with your final room charges. I would look on there to see where the charge originated (dining? shopping? room?).

Since your stay is over, you need to speak with the accounts receivable group to question/dispute charges on your bill. I think the number is on the emailed invoice. I have had to work with them before and they were very helpful! We had issues with being charged for meals that should have been deducted from a dining plan (this is why we never use the plan anymore).

Makes sense. Except the TA gets an F for not explaining that to the OP.
Gosh, aren't there a lot of TA that seem to drop the ball in so many areas ? Some are great and others, not so much.

OP, did you check your email on file with Disney for an email with your statement? We've never not gotten one at check out. Shouldn't be hard at all to get a detail statement of what constituted the charges. Or to get resolved if it isn't something you authorized.

Our TA has great deals around Labor Day and even with RO we have to pay 45 days in advance. I completely forgot that RO gets paid once you arrive. If the OP already paid the TA maybe the Poly didn't notice and double charged her??

OP I hope you get it worked out and it's an easy fix.

Yes - you should have received an email with your charges --make sure to get the name of the person you talk with and their extension #...you can also request that they follow up with an email to you that confirms the information you discussed to make sure that everyone is clear about the charges and the resolution :)

I would have been on the phone as soon as I saw a charge like that!!!! good luck, let us know how you made out. Disney first and cc next!! If you have already paid in full your trip with the TA - I see no reason why you would call them. They are not the ones that charged you anyway. Keep us posted

That one is a little different of a situation. They are selling you room blocks which have different booking rooms then a true standard room only reservation. If the TA booked just a regular standard room only reservation they usually have the same booking rules as a Disney room only.

Or perhaps OP didn't read their confirmation documents correctly?

OP, if this was a room-only reservation booked through WDTC, you have to pay the balance at check-in. Please let us know if your situation is resolved.
