DH and I are taking my brothers with us to WDW in January, and will be staying at the Poly and then BCV. We booked the Poly with points we were going to use on a cruise until we cancelled it to take the boys instead.

I didn't realize at the time of booking that the Poly charges extra for having more than two people over 18 in the room. Since all of us are over 18, will we be charged? When I made the reservation with Member Services, I told them that there would be 4 adults and 0 children in the room, and they didn't mention anything about a charge. I just didn't know if the policy was different if you were using points rather than paying cash. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Very good question. Last January I stayed at the Poly (concierge) with two other adults. I inquired about this exact question several times. I was bounced back and forth between Poly front desk, Poly concierge, and DVC member services. Finally I asked to speak to the supervisor at Poly concierge (since that was where I would be checking in), and they admitted that they really had no idea if they are suppose to charge the extra fee. They finally said that they would waive the extra charge since the minimum DVC accommodations would handle four.
I was willing to pay the extra fee, but honestly NOBODY knew what to do.

Good luck....

Thanks for sharing your experience. I guess I will call and speak with a manager for an official word before I leave instead of taking my chances with whether the CM at check-in will charge me or not.

This question came up some time ago and one of the moderators at the time verified with a supervisor at MS. When you are using points to stay at one of the WDW resorts in the Disney Collection, there is no extra charge for more than two adults in the room.

I will post the thread if I can find it, but it may be too old to find. I remember it very well because I thought it would be a problem, too, and posted what turned out to be incorrect information.

Apparently, paying the relatively high points for a WDW hotel room does have at least one "perk" attached ot it! :teeth:
