Characters in off season

During the off-season (we're going next May), are there as many characters wandering the parks? I assume the weekends would see quite a few, but on say, a Wednesday or Thursday are there going to be many, aside from the Fab Five? Are there still scheduled meet and greets around the parks during the week?

Yep, they are out year round! We have gone in January, February, May and June and came across roaming characters like Mary Poppins, Alice, the Evil Queen, and Peter Pan everytime. The Princesses always inhabit Fantasy Faire, and Tinkerbelle has a permanent residence nearby. The Fab 5 are always around in Town Square and on Buena Vista St. in DCA, plus they meet in Toontown.

The operating hours for meet and greets may be shorter, but there will still be ample opportunity to interact with characters.

They really are everywhere, I assume kids think they really live in the Parks!

Agreed with above: there are tons of characters out year round. The app gives a good idea of who is out when. It does update to remove characters from the listing as the day goes on and those characters will for sure not be coming out. But it also updates to add characters sometimes too.

Plus there are just some characters that are surprises and you have to chance upon them. There won't be any mention on the app. Sometimes the special meet and greets may also only be listed in the guide information for the week. Like when the Country Bears were out, I don't remember seeing them in the app, but if you read the weekly guide it mentioned them. But I also could have just not looked close enough, haha!

Late in the day, though, you'll usually just find the Fab Five out.

I'll add to the chorus: we went on a slow week last year (early February; very rainy) and there were characters everywhere. No worries! We met many wandering characters.
