Characters at the Reception!!

Hi! I am curious if any past brides could help me pick out the music to have at our reception during the times the characters are there. Our planner said to try and pick a couple upbeat dancing or typical wedding songs.
We are having about 50 people and weren't really planning on doing much typical wedding group dance music but are open to whatever and am hoping to hear some ideas!!

I assume you're not having a DJ, then? Because the Disney DJs have standard songs they play when the characters arrive.

We had the same question when we set up our playlists for our wedding. We had Donald and Daisy so we used the Ducktales theme as their entrance music. We also danced to Happy by Pharrell and Bird House in Your Soul by They Might be Giants.

Three songs was about right and all of the songs were pretty upbeat. We had plenty of time for dancing, cutting the cake and taking photos. Just about every group at our wedding was able to get photos with the ducks.

oh my gosh I LOVE that!!!! makes me wish I had Donald and daisy!
we have Mickey and Minnie though and you're right lurkyloo we don't have a DJ- it's an early afternoon brunch at ariels.
I can't get over how perfect ducktails is!

Hey there!

I usually play a customized intro, and then "Mickey" by Toni Basil when Mickey and Minnie arrive. Then we can mix it up a bit depending on the guests, all within Disney Entertainment guidelines.

After you chose your songs, you may want to let your planner know the titles you will play. There are certain songs, while popular and upbeat, that may have inappropriate lyrics ...and yes, the Entertainment Manager WILL cut the song. Cast Members and the Disney DJs are aware of all the standard character guidelines (similar to not having the characters take photos with guests that have drinks in their hands, etc.)

BTW, "Happy" is an excellent choice!
