I'm on a "mission" this year to get to as many of the character meals as I can with my DD. I had not realized there was one at Animal Kingdom. Can anyone tell me what characters are there? Anyone/thing out of the ordinary.

So far I have scheduled:

Princess Breakfast at Ankerhaus - done - 1/22 - nice time.

Cape May Cafe Breakfast on 2/11 - we are splurging and spending at night at the Beach Club (we live less than 1 hr from WDW, so it is hard to justify staying at the resorts) - also eating dinner at Cape May Cafe the evening before - this is my b-day treat - a few days early (while the rates were low!)

1900 Park Fare - March 5th - DD's 9 birthday is March 4th

Chef Mickey (we had done this in 2003 when we vacationed here before moving here) Palm Sunday - my 6 year old great nephew is coming with my sister for his very first WDW trip (actually his 1st real trip anywhere!!)

Cinderellas Royal Breakfast - Aprill 22nd

Thanks,

From the Disboard dining section..... Donald's Breakfastsaurous (sp) has Donald, Mickey, Goofy and Pluto visit you as you enjoy your buffet breakfast.

Maybe I will call and see if we can get in this weekend.... only 2 seats..... might be a chance! We haven't been to AK for a few months!

The Animal Kingdom features a character breakfast, called Donald's Breakfastosaurus located at the Restaurantosaurus in Dinoland USA. Characters include Donald, Goofy, Mickey, and Pluto. All you can eat buffet from 8:00am - 10:30am; cost is $18.99-A and $10.99-C.

ENJOY!

I LOVE Character Dining! We were there in November and did 7 Character Meals - here are the characters that were there. :cool1:

Restaurantosaurus (Donald, Mickey, Pluto, & Goofy)
Akershus (Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Mulan, Jasmine, & Snow White)
Cape May Cafe -Breakfast - (Goofy, Minnie, Chip & Dale)
Crystal Palace Breakfast - (Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, and Piglet)
1900 Park Fare- (Cinderella, Fairy Godmother, Prince Charming, the two girl mice, Perla & Suzy). The food is REALLLLY good. Try the Strawberry soup! It is great!
Cinderella's Royal Table- Lunch- Cinderella, Snow White, Mary Poppins, & Belle
Chef Mickey's- Mickey, Pluto, Goofy, Max, Chip, Dale, & Minnie

ALSO, just remember that they can change a little, but mostly they stay the same. Maybe a switch here or there.

My least favorite was Mickey's Backyard Bar-B-Q! :sad2: The food was cold & not very good, the seating was bad. Most of all you had to fight to get to the characters. I am used to the characters coming around so you don't have to clammer to see them. WELL, here... They put the characters in the middle of the dance floor and everyone fights to see them. IT was too confusing for my kids & I ! When you are paying that amount of money, you shouldn't have to chase the characters down to get a picture and an autograph!

WE LOVE the Spirit of Aloha!!! The food is fantastic, and the entertainment is GREAT! My kids LOVE IT! :sunny:

ONE event that I really want to try next time is the Campfire & Sing-Along. It is held nightly at Fort Wilderness Campground. Chip & Dale lead the songs, and two Disney films are shown. THIS is FREE, and open if you are a resort guest! This sounds like a lot of fun! Great for just winding down at the end of a busy night. You can ask about it at (407-824-2788).

I also want to try Liberty Tree Tavern. Has anyone tried that one? What is it like?
Hope this helps! I found a few books that were a lot of help while planning, The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World, Birnbaum's Dining Guide, and Birnbaum's Walt Disney World. I have the 2005, and just got the 2006 versions of them all.
HOPE THIS HELPS! Have a great time!

Honeymoon- 1997 - Off Site
Yacht Club- Nov. 2003
Beach Club Villas- Nov. 2005
COMING SOON- Disney Hilton Head- July 2006 :cheer2:
Saratoga Springs- Nov. 2006

We go to this one everytime we visit Disney.

This one is the only one with Donald Duck and we really love it there. The CM are very friendly and usually do some funny things :rotfl2:

I find it very relaxing at this character meal breakfast. Hope you have fun! :thumbsup2 :donald:

Thanks for the info!

We had Belle (on her way out and a bit cranky at Ankerhaus the other week), Mary Poppins, Jasmine, Snow White, and Princess Aurora. Wish we would have seen Mulan... we have to hunt her down!!! My DD really likes her.

I have heard the campfire thing is fun. I have friends who have done it when they stayed at Fort Wilderness. We did the Hoop Dee Doo Review with them while they were here a couple weeks ago (as well as PSB).

There is also the breakfast at Ohana's with Lilo, Stitch and Mickey, and the new breakfast with the toy story gang scheduled to start up in April.

Mulan was at the Princess breakfast in Norway when we went last fall.

Thanks - we got Donald's autograph and picture at EPCOT last week, but I realized then that we had not seen him before. I hope maybe I can "squeeze" in the two of us this weekend - that would be a fun time!!!

That will be awesome! I will add that to the list! I want to do Ohana's too - I'm thinking maybe a weekend in May! We love Lilo and Stitch and Toy Story... HECK - we love it all - DD8 (soon to be 9) is not too crazy about Pooh characters though - but I finally got her to go on the POOH ride,, and she thought it was funny not for BABIES- maybe I can convince her to go to Crystal Palace!

Donald's is my favorite breakfast at WDW (yes, I'm an adult in an adults only group who loves character meals). Some earlier posters have mentioned that you can see Mickey, Donald, Pluto and Goofy but we have also seen Daisy and Minnie. The CMs are a lot of fun and will joke around with you a lot if you are game. it is by no means a gourmet breakfast, nothing overly fancy but the variety is great and the food is fresh and tasty. I had fresh chocolate chip pancakes flipped right on to my plate. Great service on drink refils, they even brought us an entire 1/2 gallon carton of milk.
