Characters and 8 year old boy

While I enjoy the rides when it comes to visiting WDW and Disneyland. I mainly there for as many characters as I can since I'm not as a big of a fan of some attractions unless it sounds cool or catches my interest.

MY DS9 just bought another autograph book for the year. He had one when he was much younger and now he's interested again. I would say he is more specific on who he wants. I doubt he would give up a ride for a character line, but we do character meals.

My son was 8 our last trip. Like many other people said he didn't like meeting any princesses. He still enjoyed the others though . But given the choice between a ride fp and characters he picked the ride every time
