Character theme rides vs non- character ones

How do feel about changing non character attractions to character ones?

depends on the attraction. I would not want to see the Haunted Mansion permanently changed to Muppets Haunted Mansion.

I feel like this mostly target EPCOT. I struggle. Am I excited for Moana and Guardians of the Galaxy... yes. Do I like the Nemo addition to the seas and Frozen Ever After... yes. Do I think it breaks with Walts vision... yes. Does that bother me, wondering what it could be like instead... yea. I'm torn. As long as they don't pull out Carousel of Progress or start adding disney Characters to it at MK. I am flexible.

Maelstrom changing to Frozen bugged me a bit just because the idea of Maelstrom was to teach you about Norway. Kind of. Which is supposed to be the purpose of the country pavilions. Is Frozen even Norwegian? And at least make the ride make sense.

The Great Movie ride to the weird Mickey & Minnie thing throws me off too, and not just because I think the ride sucks. I don't know, maybe you could have updated the great movies we are riding seeing as it is in a recreation of the Chinese Theatre. I mean to be fair, having a ride that looks like a bad drug experience in a place that is supposed to be a recreation of something on Hollywood Blvd does make sense in a depressing way but I don't think that's what they were aiming for.

I'd say that I think there's a time and a place for that. I'm not inherently against it, I just don't think some of the times they've chosen to do it are good times.

I also worry that it encourages laziness. People don't like a ride? Don't build something better; just put characters on it.

I never thought trying to update Great Movie Ride was a good idea because I don't trust Disney to pick classic movies. It would turn out that the greatest movies of all time happen to be Frozen, Moana, Cars, Toys Story, Star Wars, and whatever else they happened to be shoving at the moment.
