Character schedule on the app--accurate?

I have some character meet questions based on looking at the Disney app the last few days.

1. When the app says a character will be meeting for 5 min--I'm thinking of a typical posted schedule for Ariel by the castle--does that mean that's how long they are keeping the line open or does she just appear that briefly?

2. How accurate is the app? Earlier today, for example Elsa wasn't on the app at all, but I assume she was appearing with Anna all day? Now she's back up, and it says she was there 8-11pm.

So how accurate is the app for characters? What has been everyone's experience??

I am traveling with a 3yr old who has a very long list of must meet characters and I think it may only be doable on our short trip if I know the schedules of these meet and greets.

TIA!

I would take the app with a grain of salt. It's much more helpful than no app, but the information is sometimes wrong (both time and location).

Go with the assumption the character will be there. but start asking CMs in the area if they don't show up "on time".

Ah ok, well, thank you for the information. I'll use it and see what happens.

On one hand unplanned character meets are part of the Disneyland magic, on the other hand I would love if my 3yr old DD met everyone she is hoping to meet...:earseek:

I also have had great success using the app! I found that that 5 min time frame is the starting point at which the character will be there. If they switch off with another, that characters start time is when the first is done. I found that they close the line about 5 mins prior to the next start time.
If Elsa was not listed on the app, she may not have been there. Things happen and changes need to be made. They reflect that on the app.

Good to know! Thanks!
