Character question re: Donald Duck

Of all the characters, why is Donald Duck so hard to find at WDW? He seems to make the fewest appearances of all the characters.

I was just wondering if this is unique to WDW. I have a picture of me hugging Donald Duck back in '68 (I was 3) at DL.

I don't know why. We saw him at the Chef Mickey's dinner and luckily ran into him at MGM near the Great Movie Ride.

Donald and Daisy are both difficult to find, due mostly to their size. It's hard to find "character helpers" who are Donald and Daisy size. When you don't have as many helpers, you can't populate the parks with as many characters, if you get my drift.

At closing time at AK, Donald, Mickey, Minnie all came out for autos. by the front gates
when we were there.

We saw both Donald and Daisy everyday in front of the castle during the character greeting that happens all around that main circle in front of the castle (I'm sure there is a better name for what I just said)

We caught Donald at AKL in Camp Minnie Mickey. A few years ago we saw Donald and Daisy on the character bus at Epcot.

We also saw Donald on the character bus at Epcot--I was ecstatic! Until BF realized his camera lense was fogged up from the rain and humidity the previous day. When we went to AKL I asked the CM in Camp Minnie Mickey if Donald would be out and he told me in a few minutes.. no sooner did I turn around to walk away when the CM shouted "Miss! Here he is!" - I finally got my photo with Donald!!

Don't hesitate to ask CMs when a character is going to be out and where. They are very helpful about those things!

if you HAVE to see Donald, you can always see him at Animal Kingdom's character breakfast (Donald's Breakfastasaurus, at the Resturauntasaurus in Dino Land)

We found Donald twice at Epcot on the character bus, but we never found Daisy. I was so happy, because I really wanted to meet Donald!

I never thought Donald was hard to find. I saw him out in front as soon as we showed up to MK, he has a "show to put on" so he had to leave, after that, he was in the park. I then saw him in MGM the following day and Animal Kingdom the day after that. Saw him at Epcot first thing in the morning and later in the day.

I love Donald. I wish there was a little DOnald emoticon on the boards.

A couple of weeks ago, Donald was available in the Judge's Tent in Toontown (Magic Kingdom). He was in with Minnie Mouse.

We also saw Donald & Daisy in front of the castle.

In years past, we've caught Daisy on the way into the Magic Kingdom in front of Exposition Hall.

We've regularly seen Donald on the character bus at Epcot as well.

If in doubt, ask a CM to make a call & find out where he might be that day in the park. My son really wanted to see Pluto so we asked a CM working a register at the Judge's Tent. She called & found out Pluto would be in front of the castle in a short while so we made our way over there & sure enough, my son & daughter were meeting Pluto in no time.

Saw him this weekend on the character bus at epcot and at MK in front of the castle.

We saw Donald and Daisy at the entrance to Main Street - around the Christmas tree that was there then - on our December trip. Mickey and Minnie were also there. My sister was more excited to see Daisy than any other character!

When my kids went to get Donald's autograph, the pen ,a new disney one ran out of ink. So we just took the pic. A few minutes later, Donald got out of his line, came over to us and signed the book with a borrowed pen. Thought it was a nice thing to do!!

Donald is actually quite easy to find if you know where to look! He is now regularly in the Pal's room in the County Bounty tent in Towntown. He is also frequently on the Epcot bus as mentioned as well as at the sets in front of the castle. I believe he is also among the characters who appear at the Hat at MGM, but I'm not positive. Daisy has been seen frequently in front of the castle and on the bus as well.

Donald and Daisy's "helpers" have to be under 5 ft tall!
