When you take multiple trips per year do you ever just not stop to take pictures with the characters and get their autographs? This last trip our dds had their picture made with Snow White and Dopey together. We have had them made seperate but have never seen the two of them together. Well I didn't get the girls books signed because I was thinking we already had them. We saw Snow White at the princess breakfast and she signed t-shirts for the girls and not their books so we still do not have her autograph in their books. I know I can get a little compulsive about this but how do ya'll do it? We will walk by a character and dh will say they already have their picture with that character. I have to think about it and make sure all three dds were in the picture because dd #3 is only 1 year old. Dh just laughs.

My son is 10. But we never go past a character unless the line is way too long. The whole reason he's there, is to see these characters. It's amazing. He'll give up anything else, to spend a few moments with the characters.

So, even at 10 your son still wants to see the characters? That's nice to hear. We will go when my son is 10 and I was hoping he would still want them!!!

I answer to the OP's question, in the past, we have always stopped for every character-even if we already have it. I can't keep track of who we have and my son has always wanted to do it anyways! We'll see this trip!!

We go to Disney yearly and we always stop and get the characters signatures and pictures. We'll even repeat characters on the same trip. I'm not that much concerned about the signatures as I am the pictures. As an advid scrapbooker who does a book for every trip, it is neat to see how dd has grown from yr to yr and now in 12 days it will be ds' 2nd trip, so I see it as a way to watch my kids grow with Disney.

I wonder what it'll be like when he stops wanting to see them. I guess then.. I'll have to be the child. No problem there, of course. :p

He is planning and planning. We try and do a character meal a day. He lives for those meals. He's now a bit *too cool* to run up to the characters.. but he walks pretty quickly. I know that the characters go for the little ones.. but I love it when they pay particular attention to an older child... since they need that magic too.. maybe even a little bit more... since they are starting to be more aware of how things are.

We are exactly the same way. I'm an avid scrapbooker.. and journaller.. and those photos are priceless. Our last 2 or 3 trips, he's gone through two autograph books each time. Each book has several of the same characters.. SEVERAL Mickey's for sure. Cuz.. after all.. This one is Chef Mickey, Mickey. This one is Mickey at Garden Grill.. This one is... well.. you get the picture. :smooth:

as long as my son still gets excited about collecting them, we will keep stopping for the same characters over and over. It is completely up to him. (Unless of course i spot Jiminy, then all bets are off, i will sprint and expect my DH to catch up with the camera. If Jiminy's "helper" tells him it's time to go "home" before my turn i will beg for info as to when he will show up again and then camp there for the rest of the day. I will be clutching the only photo my mom took of me on our one day trip to MK over 20 years ago - me and jiminy.)

loriandmatt, that made me laugh. My favorite character is Eeyore and when we were down there last yr, I didn't get one picture of me and Eeoyre alone, they all had the kids in the picture with me. Well, dh has said to dd, this yr we are going to let mommy get a picture of Eeyore all by herself. So he is prepping her beforehand, he knew how disappointed I was ;)

OH ya'll! These are all such great stories. I am an avid scrapbooker too and that's one of the reasons I wondered about all these character pictures. We have made 4 trips this year so far and have 2 more planned. Our 2003 Disney scrapbook is going to be packed full. We will just keep seeing all the characters each time. I love seeing their different personalities! Thanks for ya'll's responses!

Is there anyone else who has never gotten a character's autograph, or encouraged your child to get it? For some weird reason we (me, DW, DD6, DS3) are really into having the kids pictures made with all the characters. But we just don't care about autographs. We will be making our third trip to the World soon:Pinkbounc I notice that we are the only ones in line for any character who is not seeking an autograph. Is there anyone else out there like us, or should I seek therapy?

Zippa D Doodah - you do not need to seek therapy. We do the whole autograph thing, but only for dd who is 6, ds who is 2 doesn't do autographs (yet!) We like people like you, you keep the line moving. I personally like to get my picture taken with the characters, but I don't get autographs either ;)

LOL. I sometimes have momentary, but very un-Disney like, thoughts when stuck in line behind families seeking multiple autographs. Actually, I don't mkind that much though because I'M IN DISNEY WORLD!!!
Maybe there could be a separate line for those of us seeking only pictures

Talking about waiting for autographs. Well we have 2 dds in wheelchairs and often when we are standing in line the CM will come and get us and our dds and take them to the front of the line. This is very nice but often at times it makes us feel like we have "broken" in line. There was even one time when we were on our dds Make A Wish trip and this happened. The little girl that was next got very upset and the mother said VERY loudly to her dd that she was sorry those people broke in line in front of her. My husband very nicely told her that he would gladly trade places with her if it would allow our dds to be able to stand in line and walk. They are both non mobile. Well this last time when we were at the MK we were going to check on some pictures we had taken. You know the only ramped to Exposition Hall is the one that goes right in front of the character meet and greet. There was a very long line and the CM asked everyone to move over to the right so we could get by. People got very upset because they thought we were going to the front of the line and we were actually just going inside the store.

That is so sad that people actually act that way:( People can be SO rude and cruel - UGH!! Bless you and your 2 angels and I hope you all have many "wonderful" Disney experiences in the years to come!! :)

Sometimes folks can get so impatient and self-centered. Bless you and your two angels! If only we never ran into rudeness at Disney world....

Many magical adventures in the future!

Mommie2angels,

 The behavior you described by those in line is inexcusable.Go and enjoy yorself regardless.

loriandmatt,

We just saw Jiminy Cricket on April 25th--Earth Day at the MK.

We were so excited!

You know I am really thankful that we don't run into that type of behavior very often. We were leaving the MK on Sunday and as we were leaving Dopey was coming out for meet and greet. He saw one of our dds in her wheelchair and came over to see her. Everyone was hollering for him. Dopey turned around, put his finger up to his mouth and said "shu". The CM said right now Dopey is visiting with a special guest and he will be there to see you soon. Of course I was already about to cry because of Dopey's kindness. As he walked away he hugged me. The sweetest lady that had been standing there came up and told my dd and I how sweet that was. It was really very very sweet of Dopey and also sweet of the lady to take the time to say that. She didn't mind waiting that extra minute. That's one of the many things we love about Disney and this board. The wonderful people you meet and all the love that is shared.
