Character meet and greets at Universal Studios?

Can anyone tell me what kind of characters you can meet at US?

When and where is the best time to see them? Is Sponge Bob there?

Do they offer a character meal?

There is a Universal/IOA board on this website. There are a lot of questions regarding this. Look on the scrolly thing on the bottom of your screen for a list of all forums and then look for Universal IOA.

Lots of characters--almost too many to list. There is character dining as well.

Characters are all over the park. Spongebob is often hanging out near the Jimmy Neutron ride. Often characters are near the entrance at park opening. We have seen Dora, Shrek, princess Fiona, Spongebob, Scooby, and Shaggy. Also, near Fieval's we have seen Curious George, The Man in the Big Yellow Hat, Barney (of course at his show). Okay, I can't think of any more right now, but there are a bunch. There are also a bunch of characters at IOA too!

There is a Spongebob meet and greet area in the back of the Nicktoon Store. The backdrop looks like Bikini Bottom. We took our DS's picture there in December.
