So, it's been a while since I did one of these "just for fun" posts. Here goes. So, we all enjoy (or most do) the character interaction at WDW. In fact, for some, this is one of the highlights of the trip. Who doesn't look forward to seeing their favorite Disney characters in person?!? As a DIS parent, my children are already planning who they hope to meet, and we don't leave for another two months! LOL:laughing:

But I'm curious....what characters make your Disney wish list? More specifically, who character(s) would you like to see that either aren't there much or not at all?

I'll start things off...as a product of the 90s, the Disney afternoon was a huge deal for me. I would love it if they had Darkwing Duck in the parks! That's right, DW makes my character wish list!:thumbsup2

How about you, DISers? What neglected Disney character do you cherish, hoping against hope to see one day in your favorite theme park? Let's hear it!

Oswald! My friend met him at Disneyland, and I'm jealous. I also read recently that Rabbit made an appearance at Crystal Palace, which would be an awesome surprise.

DD13 would say Jack Skellington, Maleficent and Queen of Hearts. We're doing MNSSHP this year, so we're planning to see Jack... hoping the other two are there as well!

Jiminy Cricket is my favorite. He is rare to find at WDW. I saw in Sept 2011 at Animal Kingdom at Ratiki's Planet Watch area and got photos. Later that day my camera flipped out and I lost the photos. I about cried. I rushed back over to Animal Kingdom and found him again to retake the photos. I had to wait a bit for him and luckily he came back out.

I would also love Disney Afternoon characters! Back in early 2003 we saw Rebecca meeting with Baloo and that was awesome! Don Karnage is my husband's favorite character of all time so I know that's who he'd pick. I would love to meet Flora, Fauna and Merryweather and the Rescuers!

Some of these are retired vs. never shown but some I'd like to meet that are not in current rotation. A couple are at the parties but I'm not one to spend party time in a character line. So I'm including them here for a list I wish were regular M&G characters. I know there are some I'm forgetting too.

Jack Sparrow
7 Dwarfs
Flynn Rider
Bolt
Hercules
Hades
Fauna, Flora, Merryweather
All the Pixie Hallow Fairies. I've met Fawn, Periwinkle, Rosetta, Iridesa, between the old WDW M&G and DL M&G but not all of them.

Darth Vader and Boba Fett in Star Wars land.
Launchpad McQuack
Robin Hood and Little John
Jafar
Ursula
Hercules and Megara
And not a Disney character, but the political geek in me thinks it'd be fun if they had a president look-alike doing a M&G at Hall of Presidents.

The Jack and Sally M&G was fun, but my one piece of advice is to make plans to get there early. If you wait until the posted start time, you'll spend most of your night waiting in line. My wife and I (in costume as Jack and Sally) went to their area when we first got in the park around 4:00 and just waited back there. Jack and Sally actually came out about 5:00, so we were through the line and done before the party ever even officially started. The people that waited to get in line for either them or the 7 Dwarfs spent most of their night in the queue.

Malificent was in the stage show, but not available for a M&G. (Hope that changes.) Queen of Hearts M&G was available in the spot where Alice usually stands by the teacups.

When I was younger I tried to meet all the Disney Fairies but, didn't get to meet all of them before they flew back to Pixie Hollow so Silvermist and Fawn would be on my list. Also I really want to meet Meg and Hercules!

Prince Phillip
Flora, Fauna, and Merriweather
Flynn Rider
Robin Hood
Jack Sparrow

Definitely rarer characters or villains. We love character interactions, but seeing the same core characters year after year is getting boring.

Ack, how could I leave out The Avengers. Yes, I have met Thor and Captain America at DL but would love to see a time they get to show them all at WDW (an unlikely dream, I know)
Fury
Hawkeye
Black Widow
Ant Man
Iron Man
Scarlet Witch
Falcon
Vision
Loki (the best bad guy ever!)

Thanks for the great advice! We are planning to go to MK early afternoon (with regular ticket). We'll grab a snack and get in line early. It would be awesome to hit Jack and 7 dwarfs BEFORE party officially starts!

A question for the Jack Skellington fans - the pics I've seen from his MVMCP appearances have been... disappointing. Might be a character design that just can't be replicated by a costumed CM. Is it better than it looks?

If they do it like last year, the party officially starts at 7:00, but you can go get your wristband at 4:00. We got there about 4:15, got our bands and got in line around 5:00. Because of the long lines, Jack and Sally had started coming out early. In our case, they came out about 5:15. But the CMs were checking wristbands and only letting people who had paid for the party get in. So we were through by about 5:45 or 6.

When we came back by there a couple hours later, it was a 2+ hour wait. I don't believe the 7 Dwarfs came out early, but I could be mistaken on that.

In person, it does look a little better but I think you hit the nail on the head--it's really a design that would be tough to replicate in a costume. If you look at Nightmare Before Christmas, Jack is so expressive with his mouth and facial expressions. I think they tried to incorporate that into this costume to let him have big facial movements. You could probably make a more realistic-looking mask, but would lose the ability to have it be so expressive.

FWIW, the people playing Jack and Sally were great. Really nailed the characters.

Flower: I'm surprised he didn't return to the parks now that Thumper is meetable at WDW and the other parks across the globe (Mainly Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris) since he was of the more memorable characters from Bambi. He hasn't been seen at the parks since the late 1970's. It would have been very nice to see him make a return to being a meetable character at WDW someday especially at Animal Kingdom.

Thumper and Miss Bunny: While you can still meet them at AK, they don't show up very often ever since Camp Minnie Mickey got demolished to make way for Avatarland. Doesn't help that the Dinoland Dance Party ended years ago and now you would have to be very lucky to find the two since they show up randomly at AK.

Toulouse, and Berlioz from The Aristocats

I want to see more rare characters show up these days besides special events. Look at Paris and Tokyo for example.

Rabbit and Scrooge McDuck are mine. I heard sometimes you may be able to meet Rabbit in DL so I'll be on the lookout for him!
