I am planning a trip for May. We are trying to decide what character meals to make reservations for. Can anyone tell me which characters are usually at each restaurant?

There aren't a lot of character meals at DLR and most all are breakfast.
  • Plaza Inn (breakfast) - Minnie and friends
  • Ariel's Grotto (breakfast and lunch) - Princesses
  • Storytellers (breakfast) - Chip, Dale, and other woodland friends (I remember seeing Koda from Brother Bear)
  • Goofy's Kitchen (all meals) - Goofy and friends
  • Surf's Up at PCH Grill (breakfast) - Mickey and friends (I saw Mickey, Stitch, Pluto, Daisy, and Minnie)

When we went in jan
Ariel had Ariel, belle, cinderella, Snow White and jasmine

Goofy had Minnie, chip and dale, Pluto and goofy.

Minnie's breakfast had the best charactors there were 10 all together
Minnie, hook, rafiki, tigger, eyesore, pooh, godmother, chip and dale, max,

I know chip and dale are always at storytellers and she named them in surfs up which I have not been to in a long while.

We went last year (March 2014) to Minnie's CB and it was GREAT! Lots of characters like you experienced.

So for our trip last week, I booked a CB at Minnie's on Saturday. Boy what a difference a year makes. This year it was a real waste of money and time!
The food wasn't as good and the only characters there were Max, Rafiki, Dale, Tigger and Minnie. We were there from 9:30 to 10:45, hoping more characters would come. But when the same characters began their second time through we decide to go.

Oh well......

We love M&F’s! When we’d book an early reservation we always had great character interaction.

I really hope they haven't changed Minnie's!! We have a reservation there on Easter Sunday morning.

When we were there last, (a year ago), we ate at Ariel's Grotto and Goofy's Kitchen.

Like mentioned before, Ariel's grotto had Belle, Ariel, Cinderella, Snow White and Princess Aurora that stopped by the tables and were available for a quick conversation and pictures.

Goofy's Kitchen had Goofy, Chip and Dale, Minnie Mouse, Jasmine, Mad Hatter, Fairy Godmother, and Cinderella (I think there may have been one or two more that I can't remember right now). The cast members at Goofy's Kitchen also seemed to hang out at each table longer and didn't seem as rushed as they did at Ariel's Grotto, too.

The last time I went to Goofy's Kitchen we had Goofy, Pluto, Rafiki, Chip and Dale, Jasmine, Aladdin, Alice and the Mad Hatter. And as Protego, mentioned, the characters spent a fair amount of time hanging out at each table instead of just rushing from table to table.

We really enjoyed the Minnie & Friends breakfast on both of our DL trips, Sept 2013 and Nov 2014. The characters were the same both times: Captain Hook, Fairy Godmother, Minnie, Chip & Dale, Tigger, Pooh, and Eeyore. The interaction was good, not rushed, and everyone stopped by multiple times. We thought the food was great too, much better than the mediocre breakfast we had at Cafe Orleans the next day. We had the earliest seating both times.

We are planning to try Minnie & Friends in July and hope to get an early reservation. This is the only character breakfast that we haven't tried yet. We usually go to Surf's Up since Stitch is DD's favorite.

Our last two character meals were a Goofy's Kitchen dinner and a Surf's Up breakfast. However, we took the last available seating for Surf's Up so it was more like an early lunch. (I am a park commando and there is no WAY I'm going to spend those prime 7:00am - 11:00am hours sitting down eating when I could be on rides!) It was awesome because there was no one being seated after us - the servers encouraged us to stay as long as we like and take as many photos as we wanted since no one else was being seated.

Which one has the best food, in your opinion?
I liked Goofy's Kitchen best. Ariel's Grotto was good but it was put together as more of a 'high end' restaurant with really well presented food but there wasn't much food given the dollar amount spent. Goofy's food may be more 'common man' type but you could eat as much as you want and, like I mentioned, you were afforded a lot more one-on-one interaction with the cast members.

We at at Minnie's in January and had the first seating, (arrived at 8:00 for a 9:00 general park opening, it was a MM day). We saw 12 characters, most 2 or 3 times, and since we were there before the restaurant had very many people, the characters played around with each other. It was the best character meal i've ever had. And i've been to a lot in both DW and DL. I guess it depends on the day and/or time. Sorry it wasn't good for you the 2nd time around.

Goofy's has changed last fall, no more guest stars like Mad Hatter visiting.

It's still my favorite of the character meals food wise, but if it's about the amount of characters Minnie wins hands down. I really dislike the food there though, and interaction has not been the best as well. A lot of the times characters never came over.

our trip over the summer we did Ariel and it was awesome for my DD but the food was not great, and Goofy's kitchen we have went to for dinner both trips and it is awesome we even got to meet the Genie this summer there, I can't remember all of them but I know Minnie genie chip and dale I would have to look at pics to tell you anyone else and its buffet so you are bound to find something you like

Minnie's at Plaza Inn- Minnie, pooh, tigger, eeyore, fairy godmother, rafiki, max, Captain Hook, chip, dale
Surfs Up- Mickey, Minnie, stitch, Daisy Duck, Pluto
Goofys- ballo, goofy, Pluto, jasmine, chip, mad hatter (this has changed now and only 4 or 5 characters 8 believe are there).

Minnie's had the best variety of characters which I loved and was convenient in the park. I got the first available seating when MM was happening so even though I did not have MM I was able to go in for my reservation.

surfs Up had the best character interaction and was the most memorable. The place was practically empty so my son got the characters to himself. The food was pretty good. My son loved having a smoothie for breakfast.

goofys had the worst character interaction in my opinion. The characters just came by and took a picture. They were not funny like the others were. Food was good.

Too bad they have now limited the amount of characters at Goofy's Kitchen. I remember having great interactions with them when I had gone there.

I'm bummed that they changed the character line-up at Goofy's. We have celebrated so many family birthdays there that I've lost count. What I loved about it was how random it seemed - it was like someone had a dartboard with every Disney character on it, threw darts at it, and sent out whatever characters he hit. Still, I love the food there - I like to eat healthy even on vacations (although I'll splurge with dessert!) and I was so happy with the fresh salad bar, the fresh fruits, and the fish they serve.
