Character Meals

When we stayed at WL in 2008 there was a bus that came by early for people who had early ADRs at the parks for character meals.

This year we are staying at Fort Wilderness. I called Fort Wilderness, and the woman who helped said that was offered there too. So if we had an early ADR at AK (like we are planning) we would be able to catch the early morning character meal bus with no problems, and get to AK before the park opens.

But when I was on the camping disboard - there were posts that indicated that you can't get to early ADRs from Fort Wilderness.

I was hoping someone here knew for sure. Is that early morning character breakfast bus available at Fort Wilderness as well? Or would we need to catch the early boat from FW to WL to catch the bus there?

I can't imagine that Disney would penalize those staying at FtW by not letting them take those early morning buses. I would think that those buses are available to FtW guests just the same as the other resorts.

That makes sense to me. I wouldn't have thought to ask, except on the camping board the posters make it sound like there is no character meal bus in the morning. I did call FW, and the woman who answered said there was. I was just hoping to verify - and this seemed like the ideal board for transportation verification.

Repeating my answer from the camping board:

YES, the early buses to AK, Studios, and Epcot start at 7am or earlier out at the Outpost!! You CAN get to your breakfast at AK in plenty of time.

However, the boat to MK is a little different.

The large cruiser that goes directly to MK truly doesn't start till about 30 - 45 minutes before park opening. However, the small launches that run between WL, Contemporary and the Fort start at 6:45 AM, so to get to MK for an early breakfast you need to take the small boat to Contemporary, then walk or Monorail over to MK. These boats DO NOT take wheelchairs.

Another glitch if you need Wheelchair access early in the morning to MK, then you need to take the WL bus from the Settlement Depot. It starts about 6:30 - 6:45 am, then take the MK bus from WL to MK. It starts about 7am.
