I don't know whether its because I'm still a comparative newbie but I can't imagine a Disney trip without at least
one character meal!!
We prefer lunch/dinner over breakfast but have had to do breakfasts because sometimes that's all that's been on offer. I take your point entirely about DS not wanting to eat at Cinderella's Royal Table!!

I'm lucky in that having 3 DDs they all wanted to eat here.
We loved Donald's Breakfastosaurus, I know that the character breakfast has been moved to Tusker House now and given a new name but if it's anything like the old one it was great fun and I love Tusker House.
We loved 'Ohana breakfast at the Poly with Stitch. The food was absolutely delicious and it's nice to be served at the table.
We've eaten at the Garden Grill, on our first trip, it was really good and we're planning on going again next time. It brings back very happy memories because they used to do a wedding vow renewal where you had to kiss to the count of 100!!

If you can get an outer table then you don't get anyone else in your photos.
We've been to Crystal Palace twice for dinner, we really enjoyed it both times. The advantage of breakfast over lunch/dinner would be an empty Main Street if you get first timeslot but that went pear shaped for me when I booked Cinderella's early with this in mind and the monorail decided to break down!!
We had booked Chef Mickey's for dinner for our last evening on our last trip but unfortunately DD fell ill and we had to cancel

so that is top of our list now.
DH wants to do the Supercalifragalistic etc etc breakfast at the Grand Floridian and I also like the sound of the Princess Storybook at Epcot.
If I had to choose just one then I think I'd go for Garden Grill as it is a revolving restaurant and all the food they serve is grown in The Land so a very different experience from other character meals, especially those at DLRP.
