Character Meals - Which do you recommend?

Has anyone done a character meal at Universal? My kids want to do one on our upcoming trip but the Universal website is a little unclear about characters that will be there. If you've done one what did you think? And which one would you recommend?

the characters rotate for the dinner hour period.
depends on the date and hotel you would like to order from.
characters rotate but can be two from the simpsons, scoobydo, etc.

at the hotel character dining, you order off the regular menu.

breakfast character dining is at the studios inside La Bamba.

We love the dinners at the hotel.

On various nights it can be either Scooby and Shaggy or Homer and Bart along with woody woodpecker.

You would have to call the hotel for specifics on a particular night as it does vary. We usually end up with Scooby at either Jake`s or Islands in RPR which suits us down to the ground.

The interaction we have experienced has been superb. They spend a lot of time with you at the tables and are a lot of fun. No extra cost for this as it`s just the normal restaurant menu that`s available.

Haven`t done the breakfast in the parks.

I'm planning on doing the La Bamba breakfast in the park. That one seems to always have a minion (though I know it's not guaranteed) at it.
